The club should go all out for Sanchez or James Rodriguez now - he's replaceable, maybe not directly, but its what they should be doing now. He's had so many chances - its only a countdown until his next controversy, and I don't think the club can rely on him not to act out under pressure again.

I doubt Liverpool would get anywhere near his post league season value.
We'd probably have a decent chance of suing him for the difference, not that it will come to that of course.

With us being in pot 3 for the CL draw losing Suarez for the group games is going to make it even ****ing harder. Let alone the chance of a title run.

Suarez is being punished for biting someone for a 3rd time. The fact that he plays for us is irrelevant to the disciplinary hearing. It's just unfortunate as their eyes as they are punishing the man. Frustrating for LFC and I hope he doesn't get paid while he isn't able to train or play.

£200,000 per week. He'll earn £3.2m during his 16 week extended break. Prick

I think we should encourage him to look for alternative forms of retaliation

Elbows, stamps, kicks & bad tackles don't seem to be punished anywhere near as bad as bites so I would encourage him to explore other avenues if he needed to retaliate (or get his retaliation in first)

First order of the day for LFC if he is to stay is to make him wear a gumshield it will at least make it more difficult for him to bite

                    And we get stung.
Our part in this is collateral. The punishment is Suarez's and as such he would take it with him if he was transferred. All we can do is to freeze his pay whilst he's banned, that would be fair. It's not like we have to field 10 players while he's banned. We'll deal with it

It is. But what is staggering is the number of people blaming all and sundry before Suarez.

If he plays for us he should be roundly booed. He has not given a thought about us. He risked everything to play in the world cup even after ****ing his knee. We now lose him for more games. Thanks mate, what a team player. Resale value has plummeted. The support he has been given by fans and the club and once again we lose out. He tried to **** off last season being a sneaky cunt. Great player but **** him. Time to move on.

Unless we fine him too. Not sure that will go down well though.

I haven't read through the last seven or eight pages of this thread. I find it very hard to believe that FIFA have any say in our domestic league. If this kind of punishment can be dealt out by FIFA then football clubs really need to consider whether they should allow their players to perform at FIFA's showcase events. We've done them a favour by allowing Suarez and the rest of our players to participate in their event. A 23 match ban or whatever it is for doing something silly on a football pitch seems ridiculously inappropriate and completely disproportionate to lesser punishments dealt out for much more serious incidents.

The ban was always going to be domestic as well otherwise he could have announced his international retirement and made a mockery of any punishment.

The club now needs to find money to replace him and look forwards.
