This to me is a bit like banning someone from driving for 3 minor speeding offences, but also banning them from travelling on vehicles, being within 100yrds of any road, using any form of driving simulator or game!!

Great statement by Chiellini. Even he has common sence and is critzising the ban.

Classy response that is from Chielini.

Thought Gordon Strachan's response on itv coverage of the world cup was classy last night. Certainly took the wind out the sails of Chiles, Wright and Dixon.

"Every manager defends his players. Don't look for morals in football we have none. In the years I've been in football, there have been wife batterers, drunken drivers, infidelity, Cantona jumping in crowd and kung fu-ing somebody in the chest. The clubs stand by them and the fans. When these players come back stand up and applaud them! So don't anybody start talking about morals because we don't have any in football. All football is about is winning football matches. If these things had been done by youth players with little importance they get sacked! Because the players bring in merchandise and money they back them to the hilt!"

Chiles then responded by saying its a very depressing view of football Said something like 'if clubs don't care and fans don't care-which he would contest' then strachan interrupted him and said ' listen this is how clubs behave so lets not say to Uruguay its wrong what your doing, when all clubs stand by players!'

Aye, always liked Strachan despite his past.
                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Diego Maradona actually makes a valid point though...

"Neymar elbowed an opponent [against Croatia in Brazil's opening World Cup 2014 game], which [should have been] a straight red card and nobody said anything," he said. "Two Cameroon players fought on the pitch. The whole world saw it and nobody said anything. They are acting the moralist with Suarez, when they gave [Zinedine] Zidane the Ballon d'Or after the final against Italy [when he headbutted Marco Materazzi. Zidane actually finished runner-up in the FIFA World Player of the Year vote]."

Both talking a lot of sense
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
