We don't even know if there is a release clause. If there is one then I'd imagine that figure is what is in the owners mindsThat's not his release clause though is it (if one exists)
I'm sure we've a value we'd do business at for Suarez whether it's met we'll have to see.
I think he'll want to be off himself this summer to get away from the British press which whilst he's not helped himself with them I can fully understand.
That's what he said last summer, even threatened to take legal action and we stood firm. With such a long contract I don't think the owners will feel any pressure to sell.Last edited by captainfog; 29-06-14, 11:39 PM.Comment

He's going. We will get a decent amount of cash for him. I just hope anyone we bring in adds something positive to our first team and squad. I'd hate us to do a Spurs. We need to adjust things rather than change things if that makes sense.Comment

Cos he's an asset stripper?I'm not saying it's helping, I'm just offering a suggestion as to why he's not confessing like he has the previous two times.
Henry had a figure in mind when the summer began (it was pretty obvious either Barca or Madrid or both would be in for him) and that figure won't have changed. They know that those clubs will want him regardless of his on-field misdemeanors and despite what his detractors and some sections of the media might think, his value hasn't been effected. Henry is seemingly a pretty tough businessman who knows the value of his asset and won't sell for a penny less. Why should he?
Oh I don't know.Comment

The story says he will earn a contract worth £40m at Barca, but only if he agrees to a clause in his contract preventing him from biting people....presulmably with some penatlies in there.Comment

If we switch off the phones and say nothing, they will get desperate and offer 26m or maybe even 27m.
On a side note IF Suarez has agreed to a salary of 160k per week, what the **** are they doing tapping up our player.
I'm sure Platini and his honest henchmen will be all over this like a tramp on a bag of hot chips. Expect Barca to really get sorted out by FIFA, if found guilty they will hit them hard, fine them 10s of Euros. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.

I don't think anyone is bothered about tapping up these days. I'd say virtually every player has agreed terms in principle before a bid is even lodged these days.
I'd have thought they'd be offering him more than £160k a week though to he honest. It's John Cross, he's just made it all up. #boomComment

I ****ing hate FIFA/UEFA/FA they are all more corrupt than Id Amin and smell worse than a Russian trawler's ****house door. They are so weak when required to do their job but strong when it suits.
They are ruining football as a global sport, it is just so depressing watching one of the few things I am passionate about going down the swanny.
Half of the English team that got tonked in Brazil have never played in the CL because the FA have allowed the Premier League to do what it ****ing wants and allowed $$$$ to dictate how our game develops. Its stinks. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.

**** off FIFA. Corrupt *******s.
**** off Suarez - Money grabbing *******, got your CL football, he still wants out.
**** off Premier league for allowing so much money corrupt the clubs
**** off clubs like Southampton for expecting 25-30m for players worth half that, it is the reason why the top clubs go foreign, therefore ensuring few Englishmen play in the CL.
**** off young English players for being too lazy to go play abroad and widen their experiences.
**** off the FA for allowing rich tycoons to buy clubs and make it almost impossible for normal clubs to compete. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
