I think Sturridge proved last season he's got a great attitude, anyway I digress.

I'd love us to keep hold of Luis and we should unless we get the deal we want from Barca, Suarez is genuinely of the best players in the world and whilst being ever so slightly bat**** mental he's a joy to watch him play for us.

I expect him to be off this summer sadly but as long as we replace him with a few options that can help cover the loss we'll be ok.

Snoozy, we hold all the aces. Suarez has 4 year contract with us. "If" he is sold it will be at the price we want to sell him for. However, BSM, he isnt. There is a something wrong with the logic and wiring

A joy to behold and watch he is.......

don't get me wrong I'd prefer it if he came out and said he wants to stay here and carries on being class...

But if we do keep, we will get all the backlash for his bite and every club/player/fan/ journo will be watching and waiting to pounce on anything he does and then come jan window it all starts again

              My take on things

Suarez, is an absolutely fantastic player, one of a kind. However, if he is here a the start of the season or not. I supported Liverpool fc before he arrived and I will support them if/when he goes. Nothing changes! #perspective

€70m is what about £55m? It would have to be £70m before we even start talking. And IMO we shouldn't let him go for less than Madrid paid for Bale. Suarez is one of the best 3 players in the world and the price should reflect that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's a pathetic offer, but our response may give them more of an indication as to how stern our resolve is. If we dismiss it straight away, which I expect we will have, then it gives Barcelona an idea about our unwillingness to sell on the cheap.

Football - Barca make opening Suarez bid - reports

Barcelona have made an opening offer of around £55.7million for Liverpool forward Luis Suarez, according to reports in Spain.

According to Catalan radio station RAC1, talks for the Uruguay striker have reached a 'crucial stage', with the Spanish club sending their chief transfer negotiator Raul Sanllehi for discussions with the Liverpool hierarchy on Wednesday.

Despite talk of Alexis Sanchez being included as part of the deal, RAC1 claim that it will be a cash only offer, with the Chile forward reportedly not keen on being part of the transfer.

The fee is short of the £80million Liverpool were apparently set to demand, but it would still be a club record, eclipsing the £50million they received for Fernando Torres.

Suarez will of course be banned from the initial stages of the coming season after the four month ban handed down by FIFA after the Uruguayan bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini in their group game at the World Cup.

With Sanchez apparently out of the picture, it seems unlikely that Liverpool would accept a lower cash figure than they were looking for, so although negotiations are clearly underway, this saga could have some time to run yet.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu refused to confirm the club were in talks with Liverpool, but did praise Suarez over his apology for the Chiellini incident.

"I announced months ago that the team would undergo a deep renovation but we cannot reveal details because we don't want to give clues away to any of our rivals," Bartomeu said on Wednesday, as they confirmed the signing of Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

"Our representatives are constantly travelling to other countries because of potential signing.

"Suarez is a Liverpool player so I can't talk about him, he belongs to another team, a rival team. But we are all football men, and saying sorry is honourable, it helps the competition.

"He did something that wasn't right, so it's the responsibility of everyone in football, be it Liverpool or anywhere else, to remember that he has said sorry. Admitting you have done something wrong is very important."

"Luis has apologised and that is honourable, he's taken a step towards rehabilitating, the football world should support him and help him," added Bartomeu. "As a football fan I hope he can turn a corner."

Obviously it's an opening bid but they are a long , long way away from even being close.

Insulting offer as they know his value, just wasting time. I do hate Barcelona
