Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez has laid the blame of Luis Suarez’s bite on Georgio Chiellini firmly on Liverpool after the club 'broke promises' made to their star striker.
The national manager has made the stunning claims in a radio interview and believes that if the Anfield club had allowed transfer discussions take place with Barcelona as had been promised earlier in the season, the star striker would not have reacted in the manner that he did.
Suarez landed a global four-month suspension for biting the Italian defender but Tabarez says the Reds must shoulder the responsibility.
“Luis had told me about Barcelona’s interest in November last year, a few days before our match in Jordan,” Tabarez told radio station Sport 890.
“The talks between Liverpool and Barca were very good and an agreement was reached.”
“But after the amazing season he had, Liverpool did not want to sell him and they began to back out of the deal. Luis got word of this a day after the victory over England.
“After that he was a changed man, he got upset and his head was elsewhere.”

Yeah. Well, thats the interpretation of the ban anyway.
Oddly, FIFA, an organisation based in Switzerland, have sent details of the ban for an offence committed in a Portuguese speaking country to his parent club in England.... in Spanish. And no ****er has bothered to translate it yet so have no idea what ban they are meant to be enforcing.Football without Origi is nothingComment

Have to disagree BigChief.
His style of play is such that imo he has good 3-4 years at least at this level.
That said, it is probably the best time to sell him as his stock will probably never be higher but he is a type of player that I wouldn't sell no matter until he runs down his contract as we are so much better with him than without him.
As Peekay said we will have to take a step or two back next season and maybe longer as I cannot see us filling that void that quickly.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment
