I have to disagree. The Aldridge comments are those of a fan. He doesn't deserve a new deal yet. But, by giving him a new deal (probably with a certain buy-out clause) will be beneficial for us. Doesn't it depend what the contract offer was, if the new contract ties him to the club for the next 2 seasons, regardless of whether we finish out of the top 4 this season, then why wouldn't we do that ?
If it's simply to pay him more for this season, and he can leave at the end of it, then no.
