That's a fair enough post, his form did drop a bit last year. In saying that though, we were still keeping plenty of clean sheets and scoring loads of goals so I'm not sure it was as bad as some of the posts on here would have had you believe. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Quite possibly, some match day threads do edge on the slightly hysteric, but it was probably a case of there being nothing left to play for, but yet Johnson did seem to be a bit on auto-pilot a bit too much. Especially compared to how well we know he can play.
Defo need him back in the team though, by far the best option we have for that right-side berth right now.. Plus his experience could be key seeing as how we're undergoing some defensive changes with the new lads.

Up until probably last year, Pirlo was still considered world class and he has never, even in his peak been as good as Gerrard. If he were available, a whole host of top Clubs would be in for him still I think. Gerrard is still one of the best.-----------------------------------------------

Gerrard is not the player he was, but he's carried the team pretty much since a year or so since he broke into the team. He's one of the few genuine World Class players this country has produced imo.
Not the same player now without a doubt, but he's still one of the first names on the teamsheet for me. It's understandable his performance levels aren't going to be as good as they were, but he is genuine class

There was a period of about 18+ months or so when I would have arguably claimed that Gerrard was the best player in the world (probably around 07-08).......no other player was as important to a side, and he could have walked, in slippers even, into any side in world football without question.
Obviously this was before the rise of Messi and friends, but I would've argued the point with anyone at the time.
Unfortunate that league success hasn't yet come, and he can forget about doing things on the international stage, but he's still vital to us, even if he's had a patchy start."I will make the boys feel your support"

Because it went to the defender?Originally posted by Shaggy View PostPeople used to go mad over anyone doing the rabona but Suarez does it so often it's barely mentioned. And that was a rabona/nutmeg combo

Maybe he should've used his left foot but why bother when you can do that
