They still play the passing game better than any team in England. We are still a work in progress and our passing/ball retention is not up to their standard IMO. By adding a player like Ozil it has given the rest of the team the confidence to express themselves. They now have a reference point in the team that they have been missing for years.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostArsenal aren't that great, they're buoyed by the acquisition of Ozil. He is a really good player, but apart from Spurs they haven't played anybody yet. They won't sustain this for a whole season and neither will we (hope I'm wrong about us)."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

Thing is though, Arsenal's current form goes back to January at least, not just this season or the few games Ozil has played.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostArsenal aren't that great, they're buoyed by the acquisition of Ozil. Özil isn't just another one of the top class players out there. He is probably the best attacking playmaker in the world. If you look at the last few seasons then he is the player that made the most assists.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostArsenal aren't that great, they're buoyed by the acquisition of Ozil. No one else comes even close.
When you sign a player like that then the rest of them start to think that they will win the league and not only fight it out for a top four place.
That is a big reason to why it is so important to sign up world class players like Özil.Stop the cyberhate

Sturridge isn't world class, yet.Originally posted by BigChief View PostAnd double the reason we should think we can win the league. We have two Ozils: Sturridge and Suarez.
Coutinho is no poor cousin either.
Rodgers is doing what he should do. He mentions time and time again that a player is world class. After few months the player himself and the rest of the squad will start to believe it.
Mourinho usally do that a lot something Rodgers clearly learned after his time together with him.Stop the cyberhate

I thought you were going to put Bob on ignore.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWell you are obviously within your rights to reply and I’d have been surprised if you didn’t, so that’s fair enough.
I don’t however think there is anything there that you genuinely want answers to, that would be worth the effort of me writing and you and everybody else reading. If there is though, I’ll PM a proper reply when I get a chance and we can draw a line under it.

I didn’t say I put him on ignore, I said I’ll ignore continue to ignore his posts (I’ve never understood why someone had the need for the ignore function FWIW).Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostI thought you were going to put Bob on ignore.
But anyway, if I did or I didn’t, is it necessary to drag it up 2 days later when the subject has closed? If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Perspective.

If you can't afford to sign world class players then you need to make the top class players you have believe that they are world class.
DBF wasn't great at tactics or system but he was probably the best brain washer in the game.
Then you have managers like Roy and Moyes that talk negative almost all the time. They can't make players believe that they are world class and that means that they will never be a success at a big club.
We laugh at the managers when they say that a player is world class even that he and everyone else know that he isn't but after a few months of brain washing then more and more fans will believe it and so will the players.
Positive, positive, positive. That is what the manager must be even after a defeat, even after we played ****.
We fans can afford to be negative and talk **** about our players. The manager can't. Then he will end up being sacked.Stop the cyberhate
