It's bread and butter for any media.. let alone the British media. Was always going to be blown epically out of proportion as he's a repeat offender..hence why it's so ****ing annoying as LFC supporters.

He virtually repaired his reputation last season after being public enemy number 1 the previous one, and now back to square one. A fabulous talent, we'll be lucky to ever get a player as good as him at the club again.. but he has caused mayhem since being here.

Hard to know whether the Sanchez/Barca rumours are true but "IF" they are would probably be a good time to get rid. Tough decision as he is absolutely sensational. Ever a drama at LFC that's for sure.

I wouldn't sell him as long as his contribution on the pitch outweighs the madness off it. Similar calls for Cantona to be sold after his moment of madness, no player bigger than the club etc etc and Ferguson rightly ignored it all. He sold him when his value on the pitch waned and that's all that should matter to us.

I'd like to say I'm surprised at the level of casual xenophobia in the aftermath of this but I'm not.

It appears that you can sum up the entire existence of Italy in relation to food. Ha ha, Italian people have names that sound a bit like food, very funny.

I'm going to stick my head out and say three games. FIFA will show the FA and the english media up as the loons they are. Luis will want to leave even more though
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Whatever. The point being everyone outside the club wanted him sacked or sold, something those inside the club rightly ignored.

Luis Suarez bite: We will use every argument possible to get him cleared, vows lawyer

Case for the defence: Suarez's layer believes the bite was 'casual play'

Luis Suarez's lawyer believes there is a European campaign against the controversial striker, who on Wednesday was preparing his defence after being accused of biting an Italy defender during Uruguay's 1-0 win at the World Cup.

"We don't have any doubts that this has happened because it's Suarez and secondly because Italy was eliminated," said Uruguay FA board member Alejandro Balbi, who is also Suarez's lawyer.

"There's a lot of pressure from England and Italy," Balbi told local Uruguayan radio. "We're polishing off a defence argument. We may also opt for a live testimony by Suarez in front of the FIFA disciplinary committee."

Soccer's world governing body is investigating the incident during Tuesday's Group D match in Natal which has made headlines around the world. Uruguay's win took them through to the last 16 where they will face Colombia on Saturday.

Suarez, twice previously banned for biting, looks likely to be hit with another lengthy suspension despite escaping punishment during the match for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.

"There is a possibility that they ban him, because there are precedents, but we're convinced that it was an absolutely casual play, because if Chiellini can show a scratch on one shoulder, Suarez can show a bruised and almost shut eye," Balbi said.

"If every player starts showing the injuries he suffers and they open inquiries for them everything will be way too complicated in the future. We're going to use all the arguments possible so that Luis gets out in the best possible way."

His argument echoes the sentiment in much of Uruguay, which is jubilant at the team's last-gasp victory and largely backs their key player.

The Liverpool forward's lethal finishing is far more important than his straying teeth, say many in the small, sleepy agricultural country vying for a third World Cup triumph.

Local media gushed about the victory over Italy and put the "supposed" bite on the backburner.

Abroad however, Suarez's behaviour has sparked outrage and calls for a tournament-long ban.

Balbi suggested that may be part of a broader conspiracy to sideline Uruguay, who lost to unfancied Costa Rica in their opening match without Suarez as he battled to complete his recovery from knee surgery.

"You shouldn't forget that we're rivals of many and we can be for the organiser (hosts Brazil) in the future. This does not go against what might have happened, but there's no doubt that Suarez is a rock in the shoe for many," Balbi added.

It's even less than that; Italians use Italian words when referring to both names AND food!

Luis Suarez bite: Liverpool could have grounds to take legal action if Suarez is found guilty of his latest biting accusation, according to a national law firm

The striker is at the centre of yet more controversy after appearing to sink his teeth into Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's World Cup clash against Italy in Brazil on Tuesday.

World governing body FIFA is now investigating the matter and the 27-year-old could face a lengthy ban that could be extended to club football.

Suarez has twice been banned for biting opponents in the past.

Last year he was banned for 10 matches for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic while he incurred a seven-game suspension for a similar offence while at Ajax in 2010.

Glenn Hayes, employment law partner at national law firm Irwin Mitchell, said: "The general position is that Suarez's behaviour in the work environment would usually represent gross misconduct (given that it could be classified as an assault) and would usually result in the dismissal of an employee in most circumstances.

"If the matter has occurred outside of work and is not connected to it, for example in the form of a work social, the issue for the employer would usually be whether the actions of the employee had brought the business into disrepute.

"In the case of Suarez this could easily be argued - particularly as it is the second time an incident like this has happened whilst he has been with the club (and third time overall), and the Anfield club stood by the player last time despite risk to their reputation and despite his lengthy ban.

"The decision for Liverpool however is not really about whether they do what a 'normal employer' may do.

"With Barcelona and Real Madrid apparently planning to make significant bids for the player after the World Cup, the decision is whether they are willing to dismiss a player and waive a potential huge transfer fee.

"Much will depend on what punishment FIFA hands down but if the ban is sufficiently long so that Suarez is unable to fulfil his contract, this so-called 'frustration of contract' could lead to claims by Liverpool for breach of contract on the part of Suarez."

The latest Suarez incident in the group match in Natal came amid growing speculation linking the PFA player of the year with a big-money move to Barcelona.

European champions Real Madrid have previously been linked with the player.

It remains to be seen whether such apparent interest is now tempered.

Liverpool have declined to comment on the matter. It is understood the club intend to let FIFA's process take its course before making their position clear.

Yet with Suarez having also been involved in numerous other controversies since joining Liverpool in 2011 - most infamously a race row with Manchester United's Patrice Evra that led to an eight-match ban - there is the potential for embarrassment for the Reds.

Hayes said: "It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few days and what stance Liverpool take in relation to their highest-profile and most-valued employee."

I cant see this? If we want to push on and become a dominant club, who regularly play ( and challenge) in the Champion's League, then there is NEVER a good time to "get rid" of one of the world's top 3 footballers, we should only look to strengthen, not weaken. By making ourselves weaker, we would be making another team stronger? Where's the sense in that.

Like millions of others, i think what he has done is downright disgraceful and reprehensible, but why would we simply "get rid" of a £80 - £100 million pound asset?

Luis has done the crime, now he has to do the time. Take his international ban on the chin, man the fcuk up, and get on with banging in the goals again, with a Liverbird on his chest.

                        ( IMO, of course !)

It's pretty mind blowing that as big as an overeaction in the rest of the world as there is there seems to be a complete underreaction in Uruguay.

They seem to think it's a worldwide conspiracy to frame Suarez. It's no wonder he acts like he does if he's indulged like that.
