Last season he only played 37 club games. That's not a lot these days.Originally posted by BigChief View PostUnfortunately he will be cream crackered like Kuyt was last season.
We're not in Europe next season so he will only have to play a game every 7 days, or even less frequently.
Plus he's 24 years old and an absolute 'street-fighter'.
He'll be fine. He'll have all next summer off.

'Suarez is an elite player'

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez hailed Luis Suarez as an 'elite player' after the Liverpool forward fired his country into the Copa America final with a brace in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Peru.
The Reds striker netted the opener when he coolly shot home after Diego Forlan's speculative strike was parried into his path on 52 minutes.
And the frontman sealed the triumph just five minutes later when he raced through, rounded the 'keeper and rolled the ball into an empty net.
It left Tabarez in no doubt that the Reds frontman is one of the most lethal finishers on the planet.
"He (Suarez) is an elite player in world football," Tabarez said.
"We talked about having more presence up top. That is how we got the first goal. (Diego) Forlan and Suarez appeared. After that, Peru kept attacking, but we had it under control."
"This rival was as difficult as we thought they would be. We had an experience with them in the first game."
"Our worry was (Paolo) Guerrero and (Juan Manual) Vargas. They are determined, but I think we controlled the game."
Suarez's double saw him go joint-top of the Copa goal charts with three so far.
The 24-year-old was delighted to help fire his country into their first final since 1999 and is hopeful they can now go on and clinch a record 15th title.
"It's really nice. Now we have to enjoy, celebrate and focus on the objective, which is the final," Suarez said.
"I think we knew Argentina were going to attack us (in the last round). But today, we had to come out, play and attack."
"In the second half, we were convincing in the beginning, and that gave us the win."
Uruguay will face Venezuela or Paraguay in Sunday's final.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

If we are smart, we should give him the raise, restructure his contract and insert 100m release clause.
Mark Lawrenson backs Luis Suarez to shine for Liverpool

Mark Lawrenson believes Liverpool may have pulled off "the sale of the century" by persuading Chelsea to pay £50m for Fernando Torres - and is backing his replacement Luis Suarez to put them back in the Champions League places this season.
Kenny Dalglish paid £22.7m to sign Suarez from Ajax with the cash raked in from Torres' departure to Stamford Bridge and has now spent more than £100m revamping Liverpool's squad in readiness for the new campaign.
Suarez illuminated Anfield while Torres struggled and Lawrenson told BBC Sport the two deals could be the key to putting Liverpool back in the top four.
He said: "I do feel the sale of Torres may turn out to be the sale of the century. I just feel there is something about Torres in his body language and his make up. He has always been the main man at the clubs he's been at and I look at him and he's not the same player.
"The sale has allowed Liverpool to replace him and rebuild and the American owners have brought more players in as a statement of intent that the club is heading in the right direction again. When the fax came through to say Torres had gone and it was £50m, I would be surprised if Liverpool didn't have a party."
Suarez came at less than half the price - but Lawrenson believes the exciting Uruguayan striker has the potential to have a similar impact on the Premier League as Cristiano Ronaldo did at Manchester United.
He said: "Suarez is the big one for me. Lots of people have arrived at Liverpool and people have said they remind me of Dalglish - and they never were because he was so special, but Suarez might just be the closest.
"He's got all the ability in the world and a real mean streak. He is a top player. I think he might be a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United. He could just take off and in a couple of years' time you might be talking about a £60m player.
"He's got great ability. He is very aware of everything, a real team player a handful to play against and like all South Americans can really look after himself"
"Kenny's eyes light up when he talks about him. He's got that little bit of everything and when you see goals like he scored at Sunderland last season you ask yourself 'how's he done that?', which was another trait Dalglish had.
"He's got great ability. He is very aware of everything, a real team player a handful to play against and like all South Americans can really look after himself. Players like Diego Maradona and Carlos Tevez found themselves getting booted on a regular basis but were tough and could give it back. Suarez is the same."
Andy Carroll arrived at the same time as Suarez, while Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Dowing have also been acquired as Liverpool's new owners the Fenway Sports Group back Dalglish heavily in the transfer market.
And Lawrenson believes they can now threaten Arsenal's place in the top four next season, saying: "I think they have got a chance of the top four because of the players they have signed.
I'm not sure about Arsenal with all the uncertainty over Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas. They still haven't addressed the problems people have been telling them to address for years, such as in central defence.
"I think the top three might be beyond Liverpool, but I certainly think what they've done so far this summer can put them in contention for the Champions League places again."Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Sure we do.
He already expressed an interest to go to Barca some day (and if he continues to develop they may be in for him next summer) and/or Roman/Sheikh Mansour may try to temp him with the power of money.
If he decides to do "Nando" we better get top value for him.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

How does a release clause help that in any way?Originally posted by Mostar View PostSure we do.

Release clauses are meaningless from a clubs point of view, whats the point? If he ever wants to go he'll throw a tantrum like they all do and we'll sell him to Real for about £60m, a 100m release clause doesnt change any of that.Originally posted by Mostar View PostIf we are smart, we should give him the raise, restructure his contract and insert 100m release clause.

He currently has a release clause of £∞m.
Of course if for whatever reason we decide its in the clubs interest to sell then he'll go for a price we get offered. Lowering this to a mere £100m serves no purpose at all."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011
