It will be interesting to see how the club and players arrive at performance levels to trigger incentives, especially for defenders, defensive midfielders etc.
Having said that fair play to the club and FSG for attempting to do something like this. We need to innovate a little bit so that we can compete with other clubs and this is a great direction to take.

Can only guess that it'd be a combination of appearances plus clean sheets if Suarez is getting a huge payrise for scoring.Originally posted by peekay View PostIt will be interesting to see how the club and players arrive at performance levels to trigger incentives, especially for defenders, defensive midfielders etc.

Nah, it's in his nature. Wouldn't want him to either.Originally posted by Scratch View PostWonder if Suarez will stop shooting and continuously set up team mates now, to try and trigger another clause? Kinda like a rpg where you level up to the max on one thing then move on to another?Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I can see this becoming a problem when we compete with other clubs for the new quality signings.
Unless we are willing to match other teams in terms of basic salary imo this reward system of compensation will work against us.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Well I'd assume the idea is to offer competitive wages to players and prospective ones, and then reward them for good performances (or make an example of poor ones) afterwards. I'd rather we not offer astronomical wages to players we are after. That's something we've been guilty of in the past, is it not? If we're after a world class player with equally immense wage demands, then I suppose that's a judgment call that must be made. I'd also assume that players on the highest wages will be eligible for wage increases based on performance (subject to a cap of some kind, obviously... I hope we never pay anyone more than £300k per week or some other ridiculous figure of your choosing).Originally posted by Mostar View PostTime will tell.
