Rodgers is a very young manager and don't have the network like a manager like Rafa and Ancelotti have.
It will take time to build that up.
Sahin from Real, Coutinho from Inter. Two teams connected with Mourinho. The manager that was Rodgers boss.
Borini and Allen....Swansea.
We don't have a fair chance to sign top class players like Suarez and that is why for example Xabi is a must signing.
He is more or less the only top class player we have a fair chance to sign. It is Xabi or no one.
If we would end up signing him then we would get it easier to sign more top class players.Stop the cyberhate

Coutinho arrived at Inter after Mourinho left didn't he? That link is incredibly tenuous.
And errr, didn't we actually sign Suarez not so long ago? How did that work then? Don't tell me it was Kenny's reputation, he'd been out of the game for years.
I think in our current position it will not be easy top attract top players at the peak of their careers who want CL football, but we can still attract real talents and emerging players with some effort no matter who our manager is.Last edited by MrMichael; 01-04-13, 10:45 PM.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Inter is still very much connected with Mourinho in the same way as Chelsea.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostCoutinho arrived at Inter after Mourinho left didn't he? That link is incredibly tenuous.

Two clubs with a few players that will tell the world that Mourinho is the special one and no one is even close. They will work against the manager if he want them to.
It was Mourinho that signed up Coutinho and it was Rafa that gave him a chance.
I wouldn't be surprised if he talked to both of them about Rodgers and Liverpool before he signed for us.
Suarez himself have said as you know that a part of the reason why he signed for us was that he would play together with Torres.

Originally posted by Liverpool EchoRodgers revealed that he had discussed Coutinho with former Inter boss Jose Mourinho, but the current Real Madrid manager wasn’t influential in him swooping for the 20-year-old Brazilian.
“I’ve obviously had conversations about him (with Mourinho). He had signed him, but then he left – I think he played there when Rafael Benitez was manager there – but he gave us a good insight into him when he was at Espanyol. He saw him a lot when he was there on-loan.Like blood on iron

If we would sell Suarez in the summer then it would send out the signal that he don't believe in our project.
It would send out the signal that he don't believe we will play CL football any time soon.
Suarez is more important to us than Rodgers is.
It is simply a must to keep Suarez or the Rodgers project would be dead.
We could still sign up young promising talents but could they take us into the CL? Most probably not and then we end up losing the young promised talents we signed up.
We must have a couple of world class players in the team or else we won't be able to attract other top class players and the young promised talents would only see us as a stepping stone.Stop the cyberhate
