He should accept it just to relieve some of the pressure on him. It'll look as though he is willing, and wanting to be repentant.

Did they ever offer this to that thug Rooney? Or anyone else for that matter?

But seeing the fall out and the media coverage/witch hunt is almost unbearable. I can't imagine all of this coverage would happen to any other player.

The Defoe incident has to be used as it was almost the same thing. Love him or hate him you can't just make up a set of rules for Suarez and a set for everyone else. The club have a responsibility to act on this and FA should let them deal with it, which I'm sure they will. Lesson's must have been learnt from the other incident.

Talk of selling him is just nonsense. He is one of the best players in world football and all of the top clubs around would have him. Selling him would only weaken Liverpool and strengthen a rival.

With Suarez you have to take all the baggage that comes with him because he is really that good. In our current position, we will never be able to sign Messi or Ronaldo and apart from them he is the next best around.

I am really disappointed with people like Souness and Thompson. Souness especially as he came across like Suarez had just killed someone. Totally over reacting, Like He was a ****ing angel when he was playing.
          +1

In all seriousness though, he needs it. He really does. Biting someone FFS. Again. He has serious anger issues on the pitch and I'd say he does need a bit of help with it.

Maybe there's something in that Uruguayan tea he drinks.

Hahaha thats brilliant. Perhaps they can get the convicted drink driver Clarke Carlisle to be his counsellor.

Seriously though, the anger management can't do any harm, sort of puts to bed the idea of deporting him, or packing him off for a few quid.

But they could maybe offer some to Jason Roberts while they're at it!

                      I'd sell Suarez.
Make all the right noises, discipline internally, support externally and then sell for anything over £40m.
With the projected FSG spend it will take us 2-3 years to revamp the squad and by that time Gerrard will be finished so we'll have to replace him as well.
Suarez has got 30 goals and we're finishing 6th/7th and out of all the cups early.

Get players lined up before the selling clubs realise we have extra cash to spend so the prices are realistic.
Transfer budget of £25m add in Suarez at £40m and player sales of approx £30m (Carroll, Downing, Skrtel, Coates, whoever)

That's £95-100m to reshape the squad in 1-2 windows as opposed to 2-3 years going at our current rate.
£70m or so on 5 players, £25-30m towards the cost of the wages.

1 star player less, much stronger squad with proper, established, experienced cover across all positions.

The last time in yonks we didn't have a world class centre forward was 05+06, before that we had Owen/Fowler, after that we had Torres and now Suarez.
We won the CL and FA Cup because the sum of the team was more important than 1 star player.
After 2001 and apart from those 2 seasons (so with star striker/s) we won a Carling Cup.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

...think that's the hardest part to take as an LFC fan. Not that he has baggage and is prone to lapses of discipline... every player has that.

It's the fact he simply doesn't seem to be able to control his emotions on the pitch when things start to get too much for him. Biting someone is just... well, indefensible. No matter how bad it gets, you just can't go all primate and start hacking chunks out of people... it makes a sly elbow, trip or push seem like handbags in comparison.

                          Suarez.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

@sisteers: Anyone slating Rodgers for his handling of #Suarez bite is seriously mis-guided. It's tiresome this constant slating of our manager.

Aye. That's just dumb. Rodgers and Ayre have dealt with this perfectly so far. The problem is that they are having to.

Seriously pissed with Suarez today. I couldn't care less what other footballers have done in the past and the relative dangers of leg breaks and kungfu kicks, biting another player, and not for the first time too, is both absurdly stupid and utterly utterly irresponsible. As someone said earlier, you learn not to bite people when you're 2 years old. What the ****? I can't believe we're going to have to go through so much more of this **** now
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                              Mine angry and defrauded young?

In all seriousness though this has to be the last straw for the club. Any sensible being knows exactly just what the club have to do no matter how hard it is, we have no choice.

                                We must bring back Ngooooooooooooooooo.
