      Luis Suarez is football marmite.
      And pantomime villainy sells papers.
      People love someone to hate.

Let's face it. We only like him, and put with all his crap cos he's good.

Anyone else and he'd be out on his arse.

It harms the club in terms of reputation, publicity, attracting new fans and sponsorship etc, as well as that a negative image hinders us in terms of appealing against punishments dished out the club and our players. It comes in to a lot of things.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I would like to see proof of this following the immediate aftermath of Suarez chomping someone in Holland.

If Adidas drop Suarez, and it's looking that way, his value will plummet. Once one high profile sponsor ****s off, the rest will follow. Just look at Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong.
Our best player being dropped by one of his biggest sponsors is definitely harmful to the club.

                    A universal truth
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                    Mine angry and defrauded young?

tiger woods still pulls in the money and Armstrong is the biggest cheat in sport history. if Adidas drop Suarez I bet he'll have a few who will happily take him on. controversial people make money

This is a media fuelled anti Suarez frenzy and will be laughed about in talking head reminiscence shows of the decade with Jimmy Carr in 15 years. Guarantee it.

I get that logic. I can't think of a single time it's actually happened though. I guess that could be that all clubs give in. If it's enough of a money difference, they very well might.

and Ben Johnson to Not sure how you can equate what Suarez did to any of those who parade themselves as mr perfect

His value is still as big as it was before the weekend, And we always knew Suarez was mentally unhinged just like the Ronnie O Sullivans of this world but still always going to be wanted by all and sundry as they are World class talents.

Not comparing what they did, more that they were dropped by their biggest sponsors.
