John Terry will be gutted. Now all the attention is back on him just when he thought the dust had settled. The media will love this, even though he's English. The obvious questions will arise and Terry will bear the brunt.

      Edit: my silver lining.

Did they? This sits outside the Premier League.

The FA disciplinary is the same as, and covers the whole game from Premier League, to Football League, to cups, to non league and the even Sunday league park leagues.

The FA run the show as far as this is concerned. The clubs may be able to force change, but will they have the appetite to effectively overhaul the way the FA is run?
          Oh I don't know.

I thought I read somewhere that the clubs have agreed to part of this disciplinary process eg. FA not being able to act if Ref's have seen incidents etc.

The only ones that would, or should be feeling lucky are the ****e/overrated ones that owe much of their positions to a severe decline in standards and by trading on the cluelessness prevalent in the fanbase/management structure, and wouldn't get a such a well-paid gig anywhere else.
Stop being so hostile. It's unnecessary. You're writing as if I've personally offended you.

I know that we are no longer a hot commodity in international club football. But I'm a fan of the club before the players. Suarez, at this moment in time, is hurting the club's chances at success because he acted like a toddler in a playpen. He's a foolish man. I don't think he's got bad intentions, but he's still an idiot for landing himself and the club in this situation.

Well, the Premier League is sanctioned by the FA. So that would be imposed on them.

I think that's FIFA regulations, that governing bodies can't overrule the decision of a match official. If the ref hasn't seen something then they haven't made a decision so that's "ok". The clubs' point of view is irrelevant I'd have thought.

But who knows what goes on, it's totally random.
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

In my humble opinion it will be wrong for the club to appeal.

Yes, but the guidelines for punishing specific offences sits with the FA to define. For example, UEFA have just implemented an automatic 10 match ban for racism. That has not been filtered down to individual FAs.

'Warned as to his future conduct' will feature heavily in how they arrived at that ban.

                            Disgraceful.

After the way it went tits up last time, and the way it made the club look in the process, it just makes sense to accept the ban and get it over and done with.

The FA here have totally ignored that. They were going to come up with a standard punishment for racism after they admitted Terry should have got more. Conveniently, nothing has happened on that.
