With Suarez aside, this whole "we can't do anything if the referee has seen it" thing from the FA is a shambles. Is it any wonder refereeing standards in this country are slipping when rules like this exist? What's stopping a referee saying he saw something when he didn't to stop "retrospective action" from the FA, or vice versa? This so-called rule almost gives the impression that the referees have a higher degree of authority than the FA, because if the referee sees something, whether he punishes the action or not, the FA can't step in unless it's under "exceptional circumstances", to which they haven't even specified what constitutes "exceptional circumstances".
I'm willing to bet that if a member of the public hadn't have reported John Terry to the police for racially abusing Ferdinand, the FA would have done absolutely **** all to him.Rome wasn't built in a day, but it wasn't built by the apprentice either.

Luis Suarez - Racism on Patrice Evra - 8 Games
John Terry - Racism on Anton Ferdinand - 4 Games
Ryan Shawcross - Ramsey Leg Break - 3 Games
Sergio Aguero - Stamp on Luiz - No Charge
Callum McManaman - Terrible tackle on Haidara - No Charge
Wayne Rooney - Elbowing James McCarthy - No Charge
Adebayor - Kicking Van Persie in the face - 3 Games
Ben Thatcher - Dreadful elbow on Pedro Mendes - 8 Games
Joey Barton - Sent off, Kicked Aguero, Tried to headbutt Kompany - 12 Games
Marouane Fellaini - Headbutting Ryan Shawcross - 3 Games
There is obviously a few more. But 10 games looks more and more excessive.
I presume there only defence can be previous cuntery from Suarez?_____________________________________

That's a disgrace! How can they even think the 2 situations are close never mind Suarez biting someone being worse.Originally posted by BrooklynRed View PostVive la France

To be fair, it was eight games, reduced to six as he had served two games of a club ban. But yes, outrageous.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostThat's a disgrace! The problem here folks is that there should be no grey area. The FA are muppets and need to change. If others had been given this harsh a ban then there would be no complaints from us. The FA need to come out with guidelines:
Violent conduct = 3 games
Repeat offence +1
Stamp +1
Headbut +1
Bite +2
Ref Assault +3
Bite +3
Racism +5
Attack fan +5
Make it comprehensive so that everyone can work out exactly what the ban is, none of this cloak and dagger stuff.
Something like this. Then either have retrospective punishment or not. The make a rod for their own back by doing what they do.

Oh Really. Well, I'm glad you were able to regain your composure and say what you really felt. I'm also glad that even though you didn't know what to say it didn't stop you from actually replying.Originally posted by Marina View PostI was honestly a little surprised at how huffy you got and didn't really know what to say. I have just sent this to [email protected] (This is the racism hotline) Does anyone have an email address to the likes of Ayres or any other prominent person in the club I can send it to?
To whom it may concern.
I have been following the Suarez saga with interest. Firstly I do not condone what the player has done. However, I would like to point out the following
An English player Defoe bites another player and receives a yellow card no suspension. A foreign player Suarez bites another player and he receives 10 game ban.
How can you justify your actions with regard to the length of the ban given to a player for exactly the same issue
In a more recent game an English player Ferdinand violently pushes over a player by hitting in the back of the head, again there is no punishment issued
I am saddened and shocked to see that the English FA are blatantly discriminating against a foreign player, see the Race Relations Act 1976 below
The Race Relations Act 1976 was established by the Parliament of the United Kingdom to prevent discrimination on the grounds of race.
Items that are covered include discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, ethnic and national origin in the fields of employment, the provision of goods and services, education and public functions.
The Act also established the Commission for Racial Equality with a view to review the legislation, which was put in place to make sure the Act rules were followed.
The Act incorporates the earlier Race Relations Act 1965 and Race Relations Act 1968 and was later amended by the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000, notably including a statutory duty on public bodies to promote race equality, and to demonstrate that procedures to prevent race discrimination are effective.
The Act was repealed by the Equality Act 2010, which supersedes and consolidates previous discrimination law in the UK.
Further to this I will be forwarding this email to Liverpool football club in the hope they take legal action against the English FA with regard to the serious offense of contravening the Race Relations Act
Yours sincerely xxxxx xxxxxxxx

This clearly demonstrates that guilt is decided at the point of charging. Once charged, guilt always follows. Of the guys who weren't charged, why not? The trial process should determine guilt.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostRight'o out of severe boredom I've had a little look into things that I feel are just as bad or worse and their respective bans.

we should also remember Roy Keane.... the feckin knacker came out and admitted that he deliberately tried to end the career of another player. his book read something along the lines of "i waited for my moment and then i hit him hard........take that you cunt"
He received a 5 match additional ban for that (having got a 3-match ban when the offence actually happened) - to be honest it is crazy.....
The FA have zero credibility to be honest.....

What I dont get is why cant the FA publish the report the same day?
I may be wrong but wasnt Suarez warned by the FA over the Evra incident about his future conduct, so he was always going to get a severe sentence.
But if Defoe's biting is only worth a yellow card, then I cant see how the FA can impose much more of a ban than the same as a red card.
