I think I did see him a few years ago and Jongleurs in Bow, it was an all American line-up and they were all ****.Originally posted by dom9 View PostFeel free to continue missing the point.
You may not find him funny, but you've completely misunderstood the point of his act. I presume you've never seen him do stand up?
Did you have to train to be smug or does it come naturally?

It comes naturally. Thanks for asking.Originally posted by Norbs View PostI think I did see him a few years ago and Jongleurs in Bow, it was an all American line-up and they were all ****.

Did you have to train to the miss the point, or does that come naturally to you too?
Now if you're talking about ****, Jongleurs is really the ultimate in ****ness.Oh I don't know.

To draw a line under this (and my smugness), here is what I wrote yesterday specifically about the Jo Brand comparison before you mentioned it.
Obviously whether you find it funny, offensive or nondescript is up to you, but to lump it into the Jo Brand school of *comedy* is unfair imo.I like Hunter btw. Yes, he makes jokes about colour, but not in a Jo Brand fat / cake sort of way. His humour is much more intelligent and socially aware than that, often highlighting the hypocrassy and awkwardness of real life situations when race and the clashes of cultures (English / American) seem to get in the way of ordinary life. That is why I'd like to think that his booking for this event was done on purpose by somebody. It was perfect if you want to illustrate just how a point can be missed on so many levels.
Of course, after a few too many bevvies in the corporate humourless hell hole that is Jongleurs, lumped in with many other unfunny comedians, I can see why any nuances might be lost on the audience. I have lost the will to live in those places before.Oh I don't know.

I thought his agent came out the other day and said the tougher it got the more Luis had resolved to stay?
