The only issue is that Suarez drops so deep at times that there could be congestion and confusion with Coutinho in the middle. Sturridge comes deep when it is needed. To link up the play. He also plays like a poacher, trying to beat the offside trap and running off the shoulder of defenses. This is why I think Sturridge is a more natural centre forward. If Suarez was on the inside right or left position he'd be even more dangerous in an attacking sense. So I'd only feel the team would benefit if Rodgers played Suarez in one of the wider positions of the front three. That way I'd be happy if Suarez stayed. I just don't see Rodgers doing that though.

I have 0% inclination to want to sell Suarez and IMO it's lunacy to actively want him sold. Crazy.

He does deserve to be at a club playing for honours. I am happy he is with us but I feel he deserves Champions League at the very least. I just think we'd benefit more and he would too if we sold him. Our issue is not scoring goals, that is evident, with or without Suarez. Our issue seems to be a defensive one judging by this season. The money from Suarez would go a long way to solving those problems.

          Each to his own.

He makes me happy, very happy. I'll be gutted if he goes. Swore I'd never allow it to happen again after Torres but I love Luis even more than I ever did him

Yes Gibbo, I think you are right my friend. I still feel that Suarez could be even more dangerous as an inside forward though.

So basically we cut off our nose to spite our face. Great plan Baldrick.

In my opinion Suarez offers too much to want to sell him. His influence on the pitch cannot be underestimated. A world class player that gives 100% every match and doesn't accept anything less from his team mates.

His mentality is what wins leagues at the crucial stage. We need more players like him even if they aren't world class.

If you want to win you don't sell your best players - argument is as simple as that for me.

I think we are incredibly lucky given our position to have a player of his calibre. If he goes I don't think the 50m would matter, we wouldn't attract players currently that are anywhere near the same class as this lad.

There is that argument. I am not dead set on selling him, I just feel with the right investment, the team as a whole would be stronger without him. I'd be fine if he stayed too because he is a wonderful player and contrary to popular opinion and putting aside some of his antics on the pitch, I think he is a gentleman. This seems to be rare with football players these days.

He also dives, bites, racially abuses and stamps on people. You just don't know what the next stupid thing he'll do is, but you know he'll do something. I'd still sell tbh.

Really. I really struggle to have that sort of fan worship love for someone who has caused so much trouble (some of his actions have been pretty indefensible, even if the punishments have been unfair/unreasonable).

That said, unlike last summer he now scores goals and from a footballing perspective would be almost irreplaceable. If we want to get to the CL next season we need to add to what we have no diminish it. I don't think there is a very high chance of being able to use the money we would get in for him to put the same number of goals and ability to terrify the opposition into the team/squad.

Yep. It's not "worship" but so few footballers thrill me these days. I hate a lot about the game but watching him provides me with that childlike joy of seeing a properly brilliant footballer doing things that amaze you. And he plays for us so it makes me very happy. On top of his amazing skills is his unparallelled will to win which makes him the complete package. I get a huge and all too rare thrill out of watching him play.

haha, i hate seeing this thread pop up.

I wish it would just lie dormant till the start of the season, in a 'nothing to see here' type way.

He's our best player and the player I'd imagine most teams in the league want to play against the least, selling him would be a terrible idea IMO.
