No room for Luis in Garth Crooks' team of the season. Not a huge surprise.

Actually quite funny really, I mean how on earth do you leave him out.

Not even an honourable mention. Seriously? Did Suarez's 20 odd goals including several goal of the season contenders not happen?

His goal against Newcastle should have been a serious contender. Instead everyone is wanking over RVP's ok volley against Villa.

                He's an absolute cunt.

That's why he's being erased from everyone's recollection.

I maintain that anyone could've scored the same sort of goal RVP got against Villa. Only Suarez could score the goal he got against Newcastle, the technique for that goal was mind blowing, RVP just lamped it.

Anyone that doesn't include Suarez in their team of the season needs to stop watching football as they are clearly clueless. It's 'Team of the Season', not 'Team of Choir Boys'.
Fair enough you don't think Suarez is 'THE' player of the season but to suggest he wasn't one of the two best strikers in the country is ****ing stupid and your opinion should pretty much be ignored.

Big ears said last night that the candidates were comprised from each month's winning goal of the month competition. Suarez's goal v Newcastle lost to Defoe's dribble and shot goal.

RvP's goal was superb, my choice too to be honest. It was a shade better than Suarez's for the finish, timing and power that he managed to get on it without a hint of spin.

Suarez's was easily the most technically difficult goal to score, ergo it's a clear goal of the season for my money.

If I remember correctly it was that sneering arsehole Dion Dublin that picked Defoe's goal over Suarez's in the Nov goal of the month.

                            Each to their own, Norbs.

I try and liken it to me being able to replicate it. I've spanked some volleys in my time (granted a small percentage of the number attempted), but I've never been able to pluck a forty yard ball out the air on my shoulder and then retain my balance in one gorgeous movement to round the opposition.

How it didn't even win goal of the month, I have no idea.

I know it's Jamie Innit Redknapp but at least he's not been afraid to praise Luis...

My goal of the season is...

Luis Suarez might not be Mr Popular in all quarters but Liverpool have to keep him and if they need a reminder, watch a re-run of his goal against Newcastle. He took a long ball over his shoulder and on his chest, evaded Fabricio Coloccini and slipped it in. Genius.

                              JAMIE'S TEAM OF THE SEASON

Joe Hart (Man City); Pablo Zabaleta (Man City), Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Leighton Baines (Everton); Michael Carrick (Man Utd), Santi Cazorla (Arsenal), Juan Mata (Chelsea); Gareth Bale (Tottenham), Luis Suarez (Liverpool), Robin Van Persie (Man Utd).
