That statement is pretty much exactly what they put out the day before Torres handed his request in. Hopefully if he wants to go the deal is done as quickly as that one was.

Take more time on the search for a replacement though please!

If Suarez goes for £40million we'll have sold him for just £5 million more than we paid for Carroll
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Is the statement on the official site? I can't see it anywhere on the home page.
          Are we winning?

But if Carroll goes for 15 and Suarez goes for 40 then we'll only lose £2 mill on the £57 it cost for the two of them.

So with £50 million from Torres and £8 from Babel we'll have made a profit from January 2011's goat**** of a window

Even if there is a release clause its still good news.

Suarez won't mind going to his agent's brother, or to sunny Spain. So its up to the two clubs to fight it out for the £40million clause if it exists.

In short, f*ck the player exchanges and give us straight cash or the other team gets him.

Madrid are ******s and will try offload ****e players to us and insult us with poultry offers. No doubts he deserves to be challenging for titles and playing in the champs league that is easy to understand, but he has caused the circus around him..nobody else. And this feel sorry for me effort is a wee bit irritating. Man up and say you want to go to a club that are going to challenge.. have much more respect for him if he was honest about it.
Yeah - we don't want their chickens!

Luis Suarez is not for sale. LFC is fully supportive of Luis and expect him to honour his contract.

Neither Luis nor his representatives have communicated to the club a desire to leave.

My thoughts on Luis leaving haven't massively changed, I'll still be massively miffed if he goes. And he is definitely irreplaceable. The fact that we managed to sign him in the wake of Torres leaving was pure luck, and the chances of us being able to sign another player thats even close to his level is next to none.

I really hoped he would give us one more season, just to get back into the CL and show him our ambition.

The only benefit I can see out of this is that it has come so early in the window, and we wont be forced into making another Andy Caroll like decision.

Oh and the people giving him abuse are quite frankly idiots.

Seems to be trying to engineer a move to real.
hopefully we can find a decent replacement for him.

I'm not quite so sure on that. I know we'll be weaker without him, most definitely long term. But short term the money may well make us a better rounded unit.

We're doing OK at the moment without him. And I know that's not an indicator for long term. But imagine the team from the last couple of the games of the season with a couple of 20m signings added in, plus whatever we were going to buy anyway. That's our best shot at getting into a CL position next season.

I would rather he stayed, we have to look to the future, but if we're after getting back on track quickly cashing in could be what we need.

The romantic in me would be gutted if he left. The pragmatist in me thinks it could be the best thing for everyone involved.

However I still don't think he will leave Hes going to give us 1 more season.

Rogers scared a lot of people at first, but I don't think things have felt this positive in a long time.

See, this is conjecture in the most negative way about an existing player. Wait until he goes if he goes to damn him if you must.

If you expect loyalty, show some.

We bang on about football going to **** and players showing no loyalty to fans. But maybe that's because so many fans these days don't deserve any loyalty.

Damn a player as soon as look at them based on twitter bollocks.
