Re release clause, the club has already stated that transfer fee would have to be greater than the Torres fee, that suggests that there is no clause.

      If you like.

British contract law disagrees with you as was pointed out by Ballague on twitter, but you believe what ever you want.

Its a hella lotta money if he does go, assuming they make him put in a transfer request.

I don't want him to go, not even slightly, but worst case and he does we could do so much to our squad with it.

I'm same, love him to stay, wouldn't be bothered if he left. It's shaping up to be great transfer window either way.

Maybe you could tell the FA that. The Ziege case tells you that it is up to the player if a club activates the buy-out clause.

We activated the buy-out clause and Boro had to sell him.

I hope I'm not being influenced by a negative media campaign but I'm starting to dislike Suarez's behaviour (or at least his reported behaviour).

They wanted more money but had to sell him for £5.5m because of the buy-out clause.

The question that time was how we had found out that he had that clause and because of that made a bid of £5.5m, the exact amount that activated the clause.

As far as I see it Suarez isn't in a position of strength. He has a long term contract which is water tight and we dont have to sell. If a club makes us an offer we simply cannot refuse that's different.

with a world cup coming up next year and assuming Uruguay qualify then its in his interests to be playing football. If we say hes not for sale then he will just have to stick it out because he won't want to miss the world cup through sulking and not playing at lfc.

once the season starts and if hes still with us it will all be forgotten soon enough.

I was almost swayed with the last one about the club must listen to me, but then I remembered this being the English media it was probably originally in his native language and the editor got his 8 year old niece to translate what the bad man said.

Yes, so why do you think rules are the same now? Even though people involved in football have stated the opposite to what you say in regards to this rule.

I may be wrong and I base my judgement on pure guess work but I read Suarez has a clause that if any club bids 40m it triggers the ability to speak to the player to make him an offer, then the buying club have to come to some agreement with Liverpool.

I may have dreamt this whilst drunk.

The exit clause in Kuyt’s contract – now recognised as a misjudgment by the Anfield hierarchy – meant Liverpool could not stand in the Dutchman’s way if he received a lucrative offer from abroad.

Does Suarez have the exact same clause in his contract ?
