It'll be hilarious when he does sign for Arse if they went out in the qualifying rounds of the CL.

Then he got sent off in his first game back from suspension, I think that would mean his first game after that would be against us. Then we spank them in their own backyard.

Marca are reporting Real Madrid have ruled out signing Luis Suarez, and will instead put their faith in Alvaro Morata and Jese Rodriguez.

£48 million + 10% sell-on fee, I'd settle for that. And the funny thing is Arsenal are financially frooked so will be forced to sell at a lower price as they can't afford a stroppy bench warming 150k-a-weeker.
Can't agree with that. If Madrid don't come in for him this summer, I can't see them being in for him for quite a while. They have the perfect opportunity now. But for whatever reason, they're not bidding at the moment. Maybe they just have worries over his character.

Some Arsenal fan tweeted that Marca said Madrid have no interest in signing Suarez. Not sure if that's just them being optimistic

Daniel Geey, a football lawyer at Field Fisher Waterhouse, said: "Premier League regulatory commissions have previously been tasked to look at such cases, as Liverpool know from the Christian Ziege ruling in 2002. The difficulty in the Luis Suárez case is that, even if it went as far as a regulatory commission or to court, and the judge made it clear what the clause says, that is not going to happen before this transfer window closes and perhaps not even before the January transfer window closes.

"Presumably Arsenal are not supposed to know about any confidential clauses in Suárez's contract. That was the problem for Liverpool in the Ziege case when they were fined for making an illegal approach after they were informed of a £5.5m release clause in Ziege's [Middlesbrough] contract. The commercial reality is that Luis Suárez may have to force Liverpool's hand or Arsenal will raise their offer. Liverpool are not going to force the issue in relation to a provision which they believe does not allow Suárez to speak to prospective suitors."

I don't think Madrid are interested at the price we have set.

I think Arsenal are his only option.

Real Madrid, the club that is bleeding the country's finances dry, is worried about Suarez's character? This is football Sarb, I think you need to ditch the soft notions you have of it.

Madrid (and Barca) have enough players this summer to not be overly concerned with Suarez. He's not going anywhere. Arsenal is definitley not anywhere significant. When one of them royally screws up in La Liga and Neymar/Bale/Moratta are useless Suarez will be the next big name to go all out for.

I can't see Arsenal paying the price we've set either. He isn't going to go for £40m + £1. The club are pretty adamant on the clause. So either he's going to knuckle down or he's going to kick up a ****storm.

Either way, Liverpool should report Arsenal for an illegal approach. The bid makes it obvious they know about a clause in his contract.

It's interesting. Maybe the London based press are being part of a big media strategy to try and destabilise him, on behalf of Arsenal Football Club.

That's a good conspiracy theory that we can adhere to.

I agree with you on Madrid not being the shining example, etc.

But are they going to pay £50m for a player who gets himself suspended regularly and can cause a storm at a club who backed him through some pretty bad incidents. I can't see it. If the price drops, then they'll come in.

It will get messy and that should be one of our angles of attack.

Wasn't all this stuff about a 40mill clause in the press before Arsenal bid ?

I don't think the people that are saying 'Suarez is going nowhere' are aware how cuntish Suarez is prepared to get to force throw a move.

It probably was. But it doesn't really matter until someone bids. The fact they've bid £40m+£1 has made it blatantly obvious they know that there is a clause. Paper stuff is just speculation. Their bid is way too specific and precise
