I think Suarez has shown for Uruguay he is truly world class. He has only shown us flashes of what he is capable of, and I put that down to the generally average players (Stevie apart) he is surrounded by in this current team.

I reckon on this season's form, Silva, Aguero, Van Persie are ahead for sure, others who deserve a mention are maybe players like Lucas and Toure, Ba etc. etc. Suarez needs to score more, it's plain to see IMO.

Silva plays alongside Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli, Nasri, Toure and Milner.

Rooney plays alongside Nani, Hernandez, Valencia, Giggs, Welbeck, Berbatov and Park.

Suarez plays alongside Carroll, Downing, Kuyt, Henderson, Adam and occasionally Maxi and Bellamy.

Put Silva or Rooney in our squad and they wouldn't be quite as impressive, still both fantastic players of course but quality of team mates is relevant.
