"@MullockSMirror: Lot of anger at the Etihad about being linked with Suarez. MCFC think LFC are trying to create a market for their most prized asset"
"@MullockSMirror: Just had a call from a very senior source at MCFC. Been told there has been no move for Luis Suarez and there are no plans to bid."
"@MullockSMirror: Suarez story written by Merseyside-based reporters. Clearly briefed by LFC. What the motive is for misinformation is a matter of conjecture"
    Surprised anyone?
I don't know if that is true, but there were certainly lessons to be learned in the summer over the laughably crude and failed attempts to get Agger to **** off; if they have managed to adapt and refine their methodology, then it's going to be a long season.

It's got to be bull**** (Mullock). People are knifing each other in the back at City, political shenanigans. As if Mullock's gonna get the truth out of that lot.

Or a nice way for FSG to plant a story and then deny it to show a sign of 'intent' prior to what is a very important transfer window.

Certainly feasible, but I doubt it. Don't ask me why. More out of hope than anything else, I expect.

Odd choice of phrase by Rodgers, "Bidding war" usually means multiple teams in for a player. Makes you wonder whether there are a couple of clubs that have expressed an interest.

I just don't know where you get this optimism about footballers loyalty from.

LFC is just a place of work to them.

If anything he has more affinty to Ajax, and he made a career choice.

My Favourite player too, but i won't lie to myself about any percieved loyalty to lfc over his personal career, i just don't believe it.

I'm not really surprised by the fact he's being linked..

Of course big spending clubs are going to be in for him, in the same way we would, if we had megabucks..

Joint top scorer in the Prem, (he's not even a striker as such)

Playing for a mid table club..

Expect a bid for Raheem in the Summer as well..

I've no doubt Suarez will do what he thinks is best for his career.

He had the ambition and drive to move to Holland when he was very young, he then 'forced' Groningen into selling him to Ajax. He spent 3.5 seasons in Amsterdam before we came calling. OK he left on good terms but perhaps it was because Ajax realised they couldn't stand in his way and were happy with the £22m fee.

I don't think he actively wants to leave at the moment, however I'm positive he will move in the next 18 months to a club he sees as bigger than LFC. If the interest is there, which on current form seems likely.

Our only hope of keeping him is to build a very strong and successful team. With some established world class players.

As Alex said its all one pot.

Let me put it another way for you. We wouldn't have been able to sign Suarez & Carroll, had we not been aware that we had the £50m coming in for Torres.

                        Suarez maybe, Carroll no.

Suarez was already done and paid, regardless of selling Torres. Why is that so hard to understand?

Therefore the money from Torres which came in at the last minute is not really relevant to the Suarez spend.

Not enough time for that sadly. Even Everton seem more able to keep their big names these days

Maybe the plan was to sell Torres all along.
