Just finished latest fan session with BR on behalf of @paul_tomkins. Some fascinating insight and will aim to get TTT post online tonight

The most interesting nugget was that Suarez future most likely to be as a creative wide forward playing close to a mobile & clinical 9 #lfc

completely agree about suarez playing out wide.

suits him better and paves the way for a more clinical no.9

Wow. Finally! I really hope that's true because I always felt it is better for the team as a whole if Suarez plays wide. Our problem area is out wide. Our final ball and decisiveness in the area will be greatly enhanced if we sign a goalscoring striker and have a genius like Suarez playing wide.

          Suarez is great

Shame FSG are letting him down with poor investment in the squad. He's going to be 30 by the time we're competitive.

            Well that is demonstrably false.

No it's not. Spending 70 million on Carroll, Henderson and Downing is pretty much the epitome of poor investment.

Ok, so maybe poor investment is poor terminology

Ill advised investment is closer to the mark.

It's great investment. We have just invested in something terrible.

                    Yes, hence ill advised

And that is down to the management, not FSG. We'd be pissed if we had interfering owners in that regard.

Exactly. The problem last year was not FSG or a lack of money for transfers. The problem was that Dalglish and Comolli were utterly ****ing clueless.

I don't think it is clear cut as that.

                            Imo they are both responsible.

It's true that they have given Kenny certain amount of funds that wasn't invested properly but they haven't provided the similar level of support to BR and we are paying the price as result.

Cutting down on wages and getting rid off deadweight is/was necessary but in the process we let go some of the players that we could have used this year and we failed to replace them.

24m (give or take) summer spending was not going to be enough to fill all the gaps in our paper-thin squad and even though they said this would be long term project, for me this season has been as disappointing and as discouraging as the season before if not even worse.

Time will tell but if they really want to turn this club into a powerhouse once was and allow us to compete with other big clubs, which is what they said on more than one ocassion, they will have to do more and be more directly involved.

Otherwise, this vicious cycle of regularly missing on CL and our inability to attract top talent will sadly continue.

They all played their part and after getting "their man" They did not back him as much as they did with Kenny. As a result of that we are where we are at the moment.

But that's why it was always going to take longer than last Summers transfer window, we spent a lot in the summer but there is still work to be done on the squad and without a Russian mafia billionaire or a sheik backing the club it just wouldn't have been possible to fill all the gaps we have.
