IMO the rags are having to backtrack and treat him kinder. It is obvious to all, even the arseholes in the press that Luis is the standout footballer this season in the PL

Luis Suarez collided with Asmir Begovic late in the second half and Rodgers explained how the Uruguayan was forced to put ice on his ankle afterwards to stop the swelling.

"He's been playing with a swollen ankle for the last few weeks," said Rodgers. "We'll wait until the morning to see how he is but he is a warrior and he should be fine for the weekend.

"I think he was unfortunate to pick up a booking [in that challenge]. He's not even looked at the 'keeper - he's trying to swivel on the ball. I thought it was a bit unfair he picked up a booking for that."

I hope he's ok, we could do without Suarez being injured and having to miss games.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Sadly it won't do much, people will hate him until the day he leaves the country.

I don't know, I think it will have some effect.

I also think it's worth noting that this sort of PR offensive is exactly what the club is usually accused of not doing.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Best case scenario - people change from "I hate him" to "I hate him but he's a good player".

We don't need to care what most people think.

Suárez gets some positive press, a positive Sky interview, etc. And in the second minute of his first game afterwards, he is awarded a penalty. Coincidence?

Probably. But all that matters is that people who make decisions make them based on evidence, not reputation.

What a fan of Man United or Chelsea or Leeds or Aldershot might think is totally unimportant.

                  Magic.

I hope we can keep hold of him.

I would be mortified if we lost him in January. We need serious improvement in the depth of the squad to convince him we are serious about challenging at the highest level

brendan saying stuff about suarez needing champs league football...
is he trying to put some pressure on the owners to get their hand in their pockets so we can get top 4 before suarez decides to leave, or is he opening the door for bids

considering we are supposedly becoming more of an all round team, with interchangeable players, we are so ****ed if he isnt playing.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He is the best player in the league and anyone who disagrees is wrong.

He's been pretty loyal to stay this long. I can't imagine how **** we'd be without him.

On a side note how much would Suarez command Transfer fee wise ? £35 million or more ?
