Are my top ten in order (although i'm bound to have forgotten someone).
Replace Rush with Torres, and that would probably make up my top 10. I couldn't possibly rank them though.
That rug really tied the room together.

For me, if Torres hadn't done what he did, and played at that level for us for at least a couple more seasons, he'd be a shoe-in. His behaviour, plus the fact that he was already losing form for us, taints it rather. Rush might not have been anything like as technically gifted as Torres, but 346 goals in 660 appearances, plus the 7 years and 145 games when if he scored we didn't lose, were pretty amazing stats.

Makes me think how lucky we've been that we could contemplate leaving our all time record scorer out of the best ten players.

Really? We went ****ing years never losing a game in which rush scored in until that ****ing league cup final against arsenal, perry cunting groves.

I remember being out on a Saturday getting dragged round the shops as a kid, I'd always try to peer into currys to look for the latest scores on ceefax, nearly every time under our name would appear rush with a number next to it representing the minute scored, more often than not there'd be two numbers seperated by a beautiful comma, the game was then ours. The rest of the day i'd be happy, waiting for match of the day. I'd usually have to wait until the Sunday morning to watch it on vhs, being Liverpool we were a shoe in to be one of the 3 feature games. Ah the days of match of the day where you got an appreciation of all the players on the team, you'd witness a fullback clatter the winger, a centre back hoofing it in row x, a goalkeeper kicking it from his hands straight to the opposition keeper. Unlike these dreary days when an attack means a shot on goal or a goal itself. You barely have chance to blink and its the next game. The old days were the best days. Fact.

And then it happened again the very next week, against Norwich.

What it meant was we rarely let in more than one goal.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

'Kin 'ell. Luis. No one touched him.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

                          And flmao at Biscan
Robert Bernard Fowler. Scored 30 goals a season for three seasons in a row.

                          As a TEENAGER.

Prior to his posterior cruciate ligament injury he was simply the ultimate goal scoring machine and I believe he would have graced any team in history: any team at all.

Fowler was a great player but for me I'd have Rush ahead of him

Particularly if you are talking about playing Dalglish alongside him - how often did you use to hear this on the radio "Dalglish - Rush - Goal"

In his first term at Liverpool - Rush was the best finisher I've seen play in the UK he was lethal
