It would be the same scenario whatever manager we have if his CV isn't top class.

You could add that our season hasn't been that great and his word will be worth even less. Just the way it is. If we would be in the top four now then his word would be worth much more.

FSG could even use it as a way to sack him without having to pay him off.

We the fans saved Rafa a few times against Gillett and Hicks. Would we do the same now? Would we defend Rodgers against FSG if Rodgers made the threat I talked about?

Would we defend someone like Ancelotti if he made the threat?

And how bold he was in implementing it at half-time.

        Life goes on.
He lost his rag and his transfer value goes down because of that. We also lose much sponsorship money because things like this make the club look bad.

Before what happened in the game I was very sure that FSG would turn down a £40m bid. I'm not so sure about that anymore.

I think that they now would be prepared to sell him if someone offered £40m.

          Conjecture.

You could go the other way and question whether anyone would want a toxic, racist madman with cannibalistic tendencies.

Who would want him after that?

          Me!

            Interesting comment by Rodgers

Brendan, you said that nobody is bigger than the club — does that mean no matter how good that player is, the standards of the club must always come first?

Rodgers: '150%. Players are always replaceable. It doesn’t matter how good they think they are. There are wonderful talents here, but we’ve shown over the years — this club and others — if you lose a player and think you can’t replace him, the next one comes.

'The standards at this club have been met for many years and that’s why it’s the worldwide institution it is. The history of this club is of respect and how people are treated. Those standards will be maintained long after I’ve gone.'

Could this incident be used as the excuse to sell Suarez?

Anything is possible but one thing is for certain that for us to move forward we need more quality with or without Suarez.

i'm sure it could potentially be used as a reason, but biting somebody during a match isn't really an excuse. taking too many tomatoes from the salad bar is an excuse. biting another player is a reason. whether or not you agree with it is another matter.

Someone loses his rag because he's having a bad day. It happens to all manner of people. I used to work with a guy who used to headbutt his desk in frustration.
Ajax negotiated his sale while he was serving his suspension. Suggests that thet cared quite a lot.

Nice to see SSN running a story about how police were contacted to approach Ivanovic to pursue charges against Suarez.

No doubt the police were contacted by a concerned Chelsea fan, or more likely, one of those 'research gimps' you see in the background of the Sky studio in order to escalate the situation out of control.

We should ban him for the rest of the season. Not like we've anything to play for is it. It doesn't mean we should sell him and certainly not at cut price.

He is an absolute **** tho. Hope his contract allows us to hit him hard financially after any incidents like this. Bellend

The way he raised his hand when we conceded that penalty emphasises the point I was trying to make last night. Luis plays to the limits and sometimes he just reacts at things, look at it like some kind of self preservation instinct. He's a football genius and geniuses have flaws. His pass to Sturridge for the goal shows his genius side.

It was stupid and inexcusable but the lad will survive and has already allegedly accepted his apology. Ban him until the end of this season and we move on.
                              Are we winning?

The most laughable thing I have read in the whole thread is that some of you wouldn't sell him because of how important he is.

Do that mean that you would sell a player like Skrtel if he had done the same thing?

How important he is have nothing to do with it. If a player acts in a way that make the club look very bad and he do it several times then he should be sold whoever he is.

Do anyone of you really believe that it won't happen again?

Suarez have already said that it won't happen again several times but I guess that the club he works for can't trust him.
