Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

We won't get a sensible answer when the FA publishes its reasons for the 10 game ban.
Whoever sat on this panel, and frankly it doesn’t matter who it was, took into account the hullabaloo of the media and picked a number from the ether.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

If the fa are just looking at what the Dutch did, and adding more because it's his second time, then shouldn't all repeat offender footballers face similar punishment increases ? For say bad tackles an such like ?
It's madness. Just give the puishment the offence warrants, as they do every week in football.

Well said mate! I'm equally as angry at the ****ed up inconsistent system we have in place for ruling our game, if there was consistency and fairness everyone would be happy but picking and choosing who to hit hard is bollocks! It's last chance saloon for luis I think and tbh I wouldn't be surprised if fsg let him go if they receive a big offer in the summer although part of me wants him to stay!!Originally posted by Aj34 View PostThe other day on this very thread I got called a sad individual for saying Suarez had let us all down. I've changed my mind. I'm now ****ing furious with him.
I don't care how long the ban is 6,8,10 or even more there only one person to blame here. We as a club used to be able to claim the moral high ground but not any more. Too many times he's dragged our name through the mud. I know he's a world class player but we need a player that can keep a cool head not one that looks like he belongs on a ****ing playground. Rant over abuse welcome

When was the last time you 'checked', 1990? I don't know how many GOOD players would feel lucky to be bobbing around mid-table with little prospect of European football. The only ones that would, or should be feeling lucky are the ****e/overrated ones that owe much of their positions to a severe decline in standards and by trading on the cluelessness prevalent in the fanbase/management structure, and wouldn't get a such a well-paid gig anywhere else.Originally posted by Marina View PostHow good is he to us if he's going to be missing 10 competitive fixtures? I have already said I don't think we can do any better than him in our situation, so we clearly agree on that. But he 100% brought this upon himself, severity of the ban notwithstanding. He is ABSOLUTELY an idiot and last I checked, we generally apply the philosophy that players are lucky to play for Liverpool FC, not the other way round.

If the standard punishment for this sort of thing is 10 games, then I'm completely fine with that. My problem is the complete lack of consistency and transparency in the disciplinary process. The FA hand out punishments on whim. They prejudiced the trial, they appointed the independent panel.
That has to change. Get some proper governance in place. Some proper guidelines, and tighten up the regulations. Their disciplinary decisions appear to be currently based on punditry.Oh I don't know.

Wish people would show a bit more faith in the ownership, seriously. Torres wanted out. Suarez is the best player they have. They aren't stupid, neither is Rodgers. They've backed the guy to their own detriment on the racism issue and also, to a lesser extent, this. He needs to reciprocate the loyalty. Rodgers supported him over diving then he gives an interview saying he dives.
He really needs to get his head down and sort himself out. Bayern are buying Lewandowski. Cavani is going PSG. I can't see either Barca or Real going for him yet. Juve can't afford him. The club and him need to draw a line, he needs to go away, have a rest, get his mind sorted and come back next season firing. Hopefully we can add a few players in the summer too

The clubs will have to do something because it's the clubs that agree to this disciplinary process. I can't see many being happy with the current processes to be honestOriginally posted by dom9 View PostIf the standard punishment for this sort of thing is 10 games, then I'm completely fine with that.
