Have a word Arn. He's still a Red at the end of the day. A lot of our past players and legends have done things that are just as bad and shameful. Be angry with him fine, but you ALWAYS respect anyone good enough to wear the No.7.
He had a moment of madness, shamed the fans, the club and himself in the process, but equally, he's apologised, accepted what he did was wrong, admitted his guilt like a man and donated to the HFSG, all's well.
You don't turn on our players at a time like this, you give them the support they need, and he obviously needs our support. His kid and wife watches him play, imagine how he must have felt knowing they'd seen that side of him? Yes, he shouldn't have done it, but none of us are ****ing angels either.

Not read the last 10 pages and don't know if this has been mentioned but just saw that Di Canio only got one game more for pushing over Paul Alcock.

Maybe I'm misguided and / or naive but surely assaulting a referee is a far more serious offence than nibbling on a Serb?

Respect and footballer are oxymorons, whilst footballers are just morons. I can be a fan and like them as skillful players who excel at what they do, but a footballer worthy of respect as a human being?....... There aren't many.

Someone said earlier because he's a Red he's family. You don't turn on your family when they do something wrong. You don't condone or defend them, but you don't lose all respect for them either.

That's a crock ****e though, a footballer you've never met is nothing like a member of your family. Are they still family when they leave and play for your rivals? Respect is something you earn no matter who you are

But it is ok to turn on the manager?

Oh and plenty turn on players just take a look at the Henderson, Lucas, Allen and Shelvey threads to get an idea.

So we're long overdue a Suárez backlash.
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

We should take Suarez out, tie him to a stake, and sacrifice him to the football gods.

I don't like Rodgers, no, and my opinions of him aren't brilliant, but I've never said I don't respect him. Same goes for anyone who puts on a Reds shirt. Just because I don't like a player, doesn't mean I don't respect them.

Lets face it, he bit another person. Hardly something the FA come across everyday. The ban may be a bit much, but fighting it isn't going to help us. All it does is drag this club I love through even more muck. Getting a little sick of it at the moment.

I dunno about you lot, but I support the club because they bring me happiness and a bit of a distraction from real life. When things like this happen it makes me want to **** the whole thing off and go outside for a walk. It's ****ing tediously boring.

Suarez needs to grow up and stop acting like such a child on the pitch. I don't care that he is a genius during things like this. It's ****ing annoying.

Exactly how I feel too Alex, you manage to articulate it better than I can.

As a matter of interest, how has Rodgers earned your respect?
