As I have said previously the ban doesnt bother me that much but the FA should lay down clear guidelines on these sort of incidents as their punishment process is too arbitrary and is open to ridicule
Not as severe but Ferguson is on repeated misconduct charges for abusing officials.

Barton was done for three separate offences. If Suarez had been done for three he'd be looking at a 30 game ban
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Is it true you can't have proper legal representation in these FA cases? You can't turn up with that Mr Loophole solicitor for example.

That was the most ridiculous thing ever. Remember it so clearly and Mascherano did nothing wrong until the red card was stupidly brandished. After that he lost his rag - which to an extent was understandable.

I hate Ferguson, the Premier League and the FA will be a much better place without his sphere of influence but there is just no comparison between absuing an official post match and getting fined a book token and what Suarez has done

Suarez was warned for the first offence, his card has been marked and they've hammered him this time

Barton got off lightly imo but again this only goes to highlight how arbitrary the punishments are. Without clear guidelines you will have hugely inconsistent punishments

I reckon you can request advice but I don't think they can be present and speak for you, no.

Why would they? Only similar to receiving a disaplinary at work innit!

Yeah on the one hand you're right. Never been in a disciplinary so not sure on the in's and out's. I'd compare this more to a tribunal though

It's not quite the same. The FA is not Suárez's employer.
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yeah. He's being punished by an outside party. At any tribunal you'd be able to take legal representation. I'm not 100% but I think the FA prohibit it. Or did I read that Evra took some hotshot with him and we turned up with some amateur

...hence the FA seeming to have a targeted discriminatory policy against 'media bad boys' who rub the press up the wrong way...

The FA are in fact the government in this case

Which goes a long way in explaining their incompetence, inconsistency and levels of moral corruption

It puts a sour taste in my mouth that I will pay up front for a season ticket and not have him in the team for the start of the season , we must fight this ban its the fans that suffer
                              :lunch soon:

I didn't say there was but you can't arbitrarily decide to start increasing bans for repeat offences just because an offence is deemed by someone as more severe than others. The principle has to remain the same, surely, regardless of the offence. You either increase punishments exponentially for repeat offences or you don't - and this FA appear to have never done so in the past.
