    Players move on...

    We'll be fine.

    Comment

The only way we will be able to attract the best players while not being a CL club is if we got a billionaire owner. This isn't going to happen so we will have to do it the hard way and while doing that players will come and go just like Suarez who IMO is a complete ****e just like Torres for the way he has gone about things. However players come and go but we will go on. What we achieve in the future will be done through hard work.

It will be a blow but we have a lot of great talent at the club already.

I think we'll be fine without Suarez.

We must make marquee signings but not paying OTT in wages and can't offer CL football.
Success (trophies) can also help attract marquee signings especially to world renowned clubs... RVP to Utd?

I agree, it would be great to get another season but if it doesn't happen BR's plans to improve the team and climb the table will be the same.

This is also the reason to why it is so important to keep Suarez. If he don't believe in our project then would other marquee players believe in it?

If we get that first marquee player singning for us then it would be much easier to convince other players like that to join us. Even keeping Sourez could send out the same signal.

For me, if he ends up at Arsenal or Chelsea then he will be remembered as the biggest cunt who ever played for us, even worse than Owen. After the way the fans, and the club supported him after the Evra incident. The whole club and King Kenny were branded racists for backing him to the hilt. The amount of time I spent arguing with Mancs and Chavs about the word Negrito, and how it was an acceptable word in Uraguay. Even after the biting we forgave, while everyone else was calling him a Mad dog racist. And now he's suddenly flattered by other English clubs interest.

If he goes to another English club I think he'll seriously regret it. I don't believe for a minute that he will, but if he does he will never be received by their fans the way he is here, will still have to put up with the UK media and authorities (probably to an even increased level) and will be agitating for a move abroad with 12 months, almost cast iron guaranteed.

I think its just a negotiating tactic, it is obvious now that he wants to leave for abroad and I think as a club now we just have to play hard ball for the biggest fee possible and then reinvest it wisely. No player is bigger than this club and we've survived the loss of world class players before. Love the way he plays but he does also come with a downside (the circus, the suspensions etc) and we can still have a very successful upcoming season without him.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                        Mine angry and defrauded young?

Benteke, Lukaku and Michu have had one good season and could have the same (lack of) effect as Carroll.

There aren't many overseas players either to be honest, we have to face up to the fact that we can't dwell on History, world class players are very unlikely to want to join a team that have been way off CL for years now.

                          Neither do I.

Imo our pursuit of him had nothing to do with Luis situation.

                                BUT.

Lose Suarez and I genuinely can't see us making the top 4. He's a genius. Who the hell can we sign who's even close to being as good as him?

I don't see many players out there who I really want at the club, even if we were considered a big pull. When you take into consideration we are getting turned down because of a lack of CL by any top class player it makes it even more difficult.

Catch 22. To make the CL we need top players. To get top players we need to be in the CL.

We've done some nice early business, but as it stands we look to be losing Carra and Suarez from the first team and potentially replacing them with inferior players. Massive job on for Brendan & the rest.

Long way to go, as it stands we look like we have a slightly better squad. But we need Luis out ASAP to get a replacement in tbh.
                                This 100%.

Don't care what he or his agent does. I'd tell him right now, like Levy did to Modric - you owe us one more season sunshine, you're going nowhere. Next summer if we get 40m you can go, but we are not selling no matter what, until next summer. Get used to it.

I've a bet with a Manc mate that if we keep Suarez we'll get top 4. Only if we keep Suarez.

If FSG sell, Brendan has a massive task on his hands. His two main targets (HM and Papa) and his best player by a country mile gone. I can't think of two 25m players we could buy that will get us top 4.
