We do know what Suarez said because he presented evidence to the FA panel to confirm what he saidOriginally posted by Arn View PostWell, you know that I think that we should have said no comments every day until we got the verdict. We didn't.
I don't blame Suarez saying what he said to Evra because I don't know what he said. I don't believe what Evra said about it because he changed his version many times. Suarez didn't.
IMO Evra and United saw a chance to unsettle our best player. We also know that Suarez never got a fair chance in the case because we messed his defense up and we was up against DBF and United. You can't blame the player for the way the club handled the defense.
We made a mess when we defended him and we made a mess trying to protect him.
We may well have made a mess of the situation but there is no escaping the fact that Suarez was culpableBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Well if you want to advocate racism then that's your bag. Personally I think it's abhorant and indefensible but each to their own.Originally posted by Arn View PostYou can use the word he said without any problem in Netherlands but not in the UK.
If you had lived in say Brazil for a year and before you moved there didn't had a clue what words isn't offending, racist etc would you in that year learn almost every word that is offending, racist etc, and I mean in portuguese.
I think he used that word many times when he played in the Dutch league. No problem doing that there.
He works against racism and would never IMO never use racist words that he know is racist.
The way he said it of course also tells you if he knew that it was racist or not.
Would he admitted it in an interview if he know that it was racist? I doubt that very much. He isn't that stupid.
He could have got away with it if he had said nothing because the only evidence that exist is the words of the players but he didn't.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

The word he said isn't a racist word in the language he said it and that is what counts. Nothing else.
If he wanted to use a racist word then IMO he would have used one. He didn't.Stop the cyberhate

He wasn't in Kansas anymore it was racist!Originally posted by Arn View PostI don't advocate racism.

Furthermore he'd been in England for close to a year at the time. It's not like he'd fallen off a plane from some uncivilised backwater and been thrust in the first team a second later. To say that he was unaware that the cultural issue existed is a bit far fetched.
I love Suarez. He's a great player but I'm not defending that! He was completely, totally and utterly in the wrong and I'm staggered that you think it's acceptable to have said what he said.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. Almost every Uruguayan would disagree with you. The word he said isn't racist. It doesn't become a racist word because he speaks it another country.Originally posted by Rowan View PostHe wasn't in Kansas anymore it was racist!

You seem to be under the impression that racism comes from using racially stigmatised words alone, whereas this is compete nonsense. You're also contradicting yourself by suggesting you know the term he used a couple of posts after saying you don't know what he said.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Sorry Arn, but like Rowan has said, this argument simply doesn't hold water. When you live / work in another country you have to adopt the most significant of their conventions. If you cause offence because you failed to appreciate a fairly significant cultural difference then it's your own fault - you can't expect everyone else to fit around you.Originally posted by Arn View PostI don't advocate racism.

And frankly, the notion that a derogatory comment based on race is acceptable in any country or any circumstance is so anachronistic as to be entirely nonsensical. What, you can be racist in South America because people there feel less oppressed and offended when you are, and their reduced offence renders it not racist?
What he said was wrong, and he was rightly punished. If we continue to try to excuse it we will start to look just as bad ourselves.
