Arsenal are a direct rival there is no reason to sell to Arsenal or any team in the Premiership if FSG sanction a sale to a Premiership team then I would be fairly concerned about the direction they are taking us."All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"

Have you taken into consideration the Arn effect on that equation?Originally posted by G View PostCan we not nuke this thread and just talk about other things?
It will improve the collective EST sanity no end I'm sure!
I don't think so
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

if he does end up going im not sure we have the pulling power to bring in two top quality replacements who will make us a lot better.
the mkhitrayan saga showed us that not being in the champions league is really hurting us.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

We weren't in the CL when Suarez himself signed for usOriginally posted by el matador View Postif he does end up going im not sure we have the pulling power to bring in two top quality replacements who will make us a lot better.

I can't quite understand Suarez' behaviour or mindset. If he hates living in England because of the media etc, then why go to Arsenal where he'll still have the English media to contend with? Plus half their fans don't seem that arsed about signing him - but before this debacle we all loved him.
If he finds it so hard to play in competitions that he has no chance of winning then why go to Arsenal? They have marginally more chance of actually winning the league as we would (with him) - and we will not win the PL next season.
As for the CL, well, he would be playing in it with Arsenal - who qualified for it by the skin of their teeth - but again he would be playing in a competition that he has no chance of winning. For a team that will not only will not win it next season but actually have never won it before. Craziness.
If he kept his head down and mouth shut, he could see how we get on next season and if he plays well and has a storming World Cup he would have far more options - for instance Barcelona would not be spending whatever they did on Neymar and might be in for him. Or Bayern or Madrid. Even ****ing Arsenal if Wenger gives him such a hard-on (though we should never let him go to a rival).

Probably because he has no intention of accepting a deal with Arsenal but is just happy that they are bringing the fact that he's available to the attention of the masses. His Aunt Celeste is now reporting that Uruguay media say he informed LFC that he wanted CL football and the club needed to invest in top quality players. They players we've signed aren't top quality so he will look to move on.
Shame he didn't remember all those meetings with LFC when he gave interviews saying he wanted out due to the media.
Setting it up for a move to a CL club in England it looks like. Think fans may need to prepare themselves

Talk about delusions of grandeur. Imagine if you walked in to your bosses office and told him neither he, his company nor the rest of the staff were living up to your expectationsOriginally posted by Sarb View PostHis Aunt Celeste is now reporting that Uruguay media say he informed LFC that he wanted CL football and the club needed to invest in top quality players.
