Suarez is not the brightest to be honest. I think Pere and him were using Arsenal to flush out interest from Madrid and test out the clause. I'm not 100% convinced how much desire he has to go to Arsenal though

“Everyone who has played football can understand they try to win the penalty but when he goes completely, afterwards, to get a bit more … we don't need that."But now Koscielny has ensured Suarez's behaviour is up for debate once again.
“Who is the forward I hate to face? Suarez," Koscielny said to L'Equipe. “Last season I didn’t feel too well. It was a match at 12.30pm and I don’t like that schedule.
“He is tiresome to defend against. He cheats. He pulls your shirt, giving small blows. You always want to give him a kick but you have to be careful not to be sent off.
“For example on September 2 against Liverpool, it was the case with Luis Suarez.
“He is a player who likes to dive as soon as there is contact. During a challenge we jostled a bit each other and he fell.
"He started to talk to me in English, to say it was a penalty.”Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Torsten FringsOriginally posted by Arn View PostIf we can't sell him to a foregin club for £50m+ then we should keep him. No way that we should sell him to Arsenal whatever the player want.
As already been mentioned many times, selling him to Arsenal would mean that we have more or less no chance to finish in the top four.
If we sell him to them then I would blame the club as much as I would blame Suarez.
We shouldn't not do that, that would be crazy.
Dortmund don't sell players to their biggest rivals do they? They had to sell Götze because Bayern activated the clause and in the Lewandowski case they refused to sell him to them. They said no to €20m+. He will leave on a free next season but their rather keep him and miss out on the money.
They would have accepted a move if he had moved to a foreign club but not Bayern.
I take your point here Arn and idealistically you are right, it would be great if we just told Luis to stfu and made him honour his contract. However that just isn't how the football world works any more, and picking one example of Dortmund, and one player (who they probably would have sold to Bayern were it not for the Gotze thing) is not really very representative.
In other leagues big players switch between clubs on a relatively regular basis and while it would definitely stick in many of our throats if Suarez is sold to Arsenal, if he is determined to force a move there, there are no other options AND they stump up our valuation I actually think it would be counterproductive, and very disruptive, if we did stick our fingers in our ears.
We could do a lot with a well spent £55m. 6 Coutinho-esque buys, difficult though they would be to find, would improve us significantly more than keeping a pissed-off Suarez, however good he may be.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

This has pretty much been my point of view since the bite.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostNo way are Arsenal gonna go up to £55m.
I still want him to stay. Big time. I've defended him all through the flirting with Real Madrid but this desire to join Arsenal has royally ****ed me off. If he joins them he can get to ****. I'm fed up of him, but I don't really care that he's acting like a total arsehole, I want his skills in the side. He won't down tools like Torres did because I don't believe he's capable - if he stays I'm certain he'd be flat out as he always is. Stay for another year, get us into the top 4, stay, attract CL players next season and watch us fly. Gwan Luis. Gwan.Oh I don't know.

I agree but the problem is likely to be that arsenal have no intention of matching our valuation.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostTorsten Frings

I think barring Suarez refusing to play/taking them to court (making Liverpool desparate to get rid) the fee will be 50m + and I think they will pay it.Originally posted by Nigey View PostThink he'll stay. It's just about Arsenal posturing IMO.
Arsenal have a lot of money in the bank, a stadium that is paid off and restless fans that are sick and tired of their penny pinching.
From Arsenal's point of view they would be picking up a premiership player who is easily in the top five players in the world who hardly ever gets injured and works his arse off. I think the fact that Suarez is
doesn't bother them at all.

Then they can most definitely **** offOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostI agree but the problem is likely to be that arsenal have no intention of matching our valuation.
My argument is with the "shouldn't sell to Arsenal at any price" line. We most definitely shouldn't sell to Arsenal for £40,000,002 or whatever their next pisstake offer will be.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

I don't understand the surprise at some of his antics, he has never been a 'stand up guy' since he has arrived. He definitely comes across a bit thick imo.
I also don't understand why he would want to join another club in the league when they constantly sing 'Luis Suarez you know what you are' implying he is a racist. Personally, that'd put me off if i was in his position but then again i probably wouldn't have bitten an opponent either.
He is a fabulous player and i think with the way the market appears to be at the moment i'd rather keep him. I'll have no problem cheering him on next season if he stays with us because despite this saga, i am a fan of his football skills not himself as a person and tbh never really was, probably to do with all the gesticulating and arm-waving/whinging he does.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!
