Bayern Munich or Real Madrid are set to be named as the winners in the scrap to sign Liverpool's Luis Suarez.
SportsDirect News has learned that the Liverpool striker will disappoint hopeful Arsenal who bid £40 million plus £1.

And although his final destination is being kept a closely guarded secret, we have been told that it looks certain that either the German or Spanish giant have won the race.
A source close to the deal said: "I have been told by a person very close to the player that the deal is done and that it's not Arsenal.

"No one ever takes anything for granted in this game until a final announcement is made but all the indications are he will be en route to Madrid or Munich - the only other serious bidders.
"Luis has insisted throughout the Real Madrid is his favoured destination but Bayern's manager Pep Guardiola has been working hard in the background.
"As I understand it a deal has been agreed and we are not far away from a formal announcement."

However much I'd like Suarez to stay I'll be glad when this is finally brought to a conclusion.

Good words from Ayre on Suarez, said he is not for sale. Also said Pepe is talking ****e and did not have to go on loan if he didn't want to.

Both Pepe and Ayre are being deliberately vague and misleading. Obviously Pepe knew about Napoli's interest - he and Rafa share the same agent. All Pepe said was the club didn't inform him (allowing people to conclude that he didn't actually know about it). Also Ayre has said "it's not true that he didn't know" - same thing applies.

I think you often have that sort of situation when emotions are involved. Both people seem to saying what the situation was for them. People are far too quick to want to pick apart what people say.

92Live: Ian Ayre 'sure' Luis Suarez will not leave Liverpool this summer

Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre has told Sky Sports News he has no doubt Luis Suarez will stay at the club this summer.

Arsenal have failed with two bids to make Suarez their record signing, and the striker is back training with his team-mates ahead of the new Premier League season.

And as Sky Sports News' 92Live helicopter landed in Liverpool on Thursday evening, Ayre joined Jim White pitchside at Anfield to make it clear Suarez is going nowhere.

"We've got Luis Suarez in our squad, he'll have trained today and he's working hard," said Ayre, who added there have been no offers from abroad for the player.

"Despite what people think we've not had an intention of selling Luis, we've never said we want to sell Luis.

"He continues to work hard and train hard for Liverpool. That will continue and I'll expect him to be here at the start of the season."

Ayre confirmed Arsenal's two bids but said: "It's not something we're interested in and, as our fans would expect, we rejected both. The player is not available for sale - that's where we are and that's where we'll stay

"I wish I had £1 for everyone that's stopped me in the street saying 'make sure Luis stays'. That's what we're doing."

Suarez was given time off after playing for Uruguay in the Confederations Cup but joined up with Brendan Rodgers' squad in Melbourne, where 95,000 supporters watched Liverpool beat Melbourne Victory.

Ayre said: "I don't think his demeanour's changed - he's been a professional throughout. It's just business as usual.

"Luis was on the back end of tour with us. He joined us in Melbourne, and seeing the fantastic support and adulation, nobody will know more than Luis how much he's loved by this football club.

"I'm sure he's going to stay - that's always been our ambtion and that's what we expect to achieve."

Hes got a very short memory the way we have backed him he wont get that sort of support at any other club, and wanting to talk to Arsenal despite going on about how the FA and Press are driving him out of English Football how hypocritical? Besides he wont do any better at Arsenal, they are a smaller club done better in the league over the last decade but we have the better trophy record they havent won anything in 7 years. Dont get me wrong i want him to stay and ill forgive him if he makes it up during the league campaign and sorts his head out but he needs to look at past players who have left us thinking they were too good and went on to do nothing Mcmanaman, torres and mascherano to name a few became bench warmers or lost souls on the pitch.
