He has a contract that takes him up to 2018 I believe not sure there is any real need to offer him a new one unless its to strengthen LFCs position which I very much doubt!

maybe he has agreed to stay for the time being, so long as certain clauses are added [proper release fee?] and his pocket money is bumped up to 120k ish.

whether it's a clause with a £60mill buy out and to a cl club /non epl club or whatever he'll leave either this window/jan or next summer

We want a happy/motivated player who contributes to the team and a new contract based around the terms he thought he had agreed before (but witha higher fee) might help achieve that. I think a clause that started next summer would potentially make sense for us.

He should be motivated to firstly repay the faith shown in him after his indiscretions, to get us into the CL which is the easiest way for him to play in it but also to put himself in the shop window for prospective clubs who so far haven't apparently been queuing up for him; sadly that's not how things work.

              So

It would all depend on what the clause is and what activates it, I'm a little fed up with player power and especially greedy agents. If any new contract is forthcoming from us it shouldn't be for any more money and ideally stipulates he can leave if a club outside of the PL comes in with a bid of over 60-70 M pounds paid in one lump sum!

If he does play for us again I'd play him either side of Sturridge, he's earned the right to play central with his goal return and it's upto suarez to fit in around him

It's telling that no big clubs have come in for him. It speaks volumes that clubs aren't, at the moment, falling over themselves to sign him. Is he seen as a liability first and footballing genius second?

I think it expires in 2016. In which case LFC would effectively be forced to sell next summer or face losing him for cut price the following year. An extension (with appropriate clauses) would give LFC more control at least.

We're playing 4-4-2 right now, so when Suarez comes back I expect him to replace Aspas in the starting line up.

I'm all for a new deal for Suarez. Think it makes both sense to get a watertight, unambiguous clause in there that protects both parties. It doesn't even need to be that high for me - £45m or so is fine, even if that's less than I'd like to see him go for eventually. But we include a stipulation that it's only activated if we don't get CL football and if it's a team abroad. If we do get CL, it raises substantially (or simply doesn't apply, though he probably wouldn't accept that). And any deal has to be done by July 10 or something like that. He gets his out next season and at a reasonable price. We get a player who's motivated, plus make sure that we'll have time to replace him in the window and that he won't go to a PL team. I imagine this was part of the brokered peace deal or whatever it was.

I don't think the 4-4-2 is a longterm solution though. We're playing it because we're missing two attacking players - Suarez, and that left winger Brendan wants. We can't fit both of them plus Coutinho in a side playing 4-4-2. I still think 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 is Brendan's vision, with Suarez on one wing and another signing on the other, with Coutinho central, and what we're seeing now is just a bit of flexibility and pragmatism.

Suarez shouldn't play wide. He's our best player and should be played in his best position. Suarez and Sturridge would be superb together in a 4-4-2. I don't mind Coutinho playing wide left in a 4-4-2, because there's plenty of space to drift inside with two central midfielders instead of three.

Sure, I'd like us to sign another wide player to give us an option of using Coutinho behind one striker in a 4-4-1-1, but we should maintain the current structure of two central midfielers.

i think most of this is what i would be hoping for in any new contract for him.
i would prefer 60m release, 70m if we are in CL, also add a clause to protect us from any more of his on field stupidity
