He has two World Cup qualifiers with Uruguay which will help with his match fitness - I think he'll be fine.

    Comment

Yeah normally those South American qualifiers are a menace, but this time they're an absolute blessing. They'll be crucial for him in getting match fit.

I was thinking about this some more last night, and this quote really irked me.

No you didn't. You and your ****bag gang of hangers-on tried every single trick in the book to get your dream move to first Madrid, then Arsenal. The talk about release clauses, the leaking of stories to the papers, the press conferences, the constant changing of the story, the supposed threats of strikes and legal action (OK - this was rumour).

When actually, the club stood firm and played a blinder (they are better men than me - I would have cashed in). The decision was made by the club, and suitors not willing match the asking price early enough in the window.

So please don't humour with more bullsit. Get your head down, play football, and stop talking ****e.
        Oh I don't know.

It seems quite plausible to me that he meant that he gave up fighting to get out and decided to get back to work for us. I'd guess all these quotes are in translation and some nuances could be lost.

I think it's easiest and best to ignore all quotes from him and judge him purely based on his behaviour on the pitch.

It's his behavior on the pitch that has caused the club the biggest problems the last seasons.
This actually the first time he's caused problems away from it.

True - it may be lost in translation, but it might not be.

And it's that behaviour that probably stopped clubs coming in for him seriously in the window. The guy is a dick and it's a shame we didn't get appropriate offers but at least the drama has subsided and won't distract us from football, at least until January.

That's fair enough and if people make judgments of him based on that then I think it is perfectly reasonable. I just think worrying about de-contextualized quotes will end up driving everyone mad.

For me transfer crap is now par for the course. Expect ****tery and praise those who maintain some sense of dignity and loyalty (Agger for example). I think it is perfectly reasonable to question whether the crap bought about by Suarez's on field antics are balanced by his ability though.

People in sport do and say things they think is best for them at that time, Suarez won't be the only person employed by LFC that's done it either, and then had to back track for whatever reason.

I'm far more concerned with how he behaves on the pitch than what he says or doesn't say off it regarding his future and the summer window.

                          God I hope not.

Henderson is the legs of the team.

Moving Coutinho inside will create problems. It is clearly his best position but sacrificing Henderson to do it just feels wrong to me.

                          Gerrard - Lucas
                          Suarez - Coutinho - Moses
                          Sturridge

                          I'd prefer to see:

                          Gerrard - Lucas - Henderson
                          Coutinho
                          Suarez - Sturridge

With Henderson drifting over to the left and Suarez nominally starting on the right.

I think it will (and should) depend on the game. That said, against the top teams Henderson is a must start IMO.

My feeling is that the front three selection will not be as cut and dried as is made out there - our experience so far with Sturridge suggests that protecting him will be an important and worthwhile thing to do.

Hmmm, 4 wins out of 4 with Henderson being our best midfielder and he gets dropped.
