My point in general is that we don't hear about Daniel Levy, or David Gill, or whoever the Arsenal equivalent now is. See.....don't even know who he / she is - because they just get on with it. But you can be sure that most Arsenal fans know all about Ian Ayre!!!

I'd love if we sacked the idiot and got David Dein in place personally.

That example is hardly a direct comparisson though; Suarez behaviour has been an extremely public issue (to the extent that flipping David Cameron stuck his nose in) and the LFC "brand" came under significant criticism from all sorts of areas - I think it is only natural and expected that Ayre might refer to it at an industry meeting and if something quite so public and newsworthy happened in your business I'd imagine you would struggle to avoid the subject completely.

I also think you're miles off about others in that position and am not at all convinced fans of other clubs pay anywhere near enough attention to us to know who Ayre is any more than we pay attention to them. Besides, Daniel Levy is regularly in the media, and Woodward @ Utd was quite often in the summer too so I strongly dispute that you never hear about anyone from other clubs.

As for Ayre being an idiot, well that's just judgemental claptrap imo with no basis in empirical fact, but whatever...

Many of us found the pictures when he did the piggy back funny.

They may have been funny but at the same time as an MD of Liverpool FC it is very disappointing to see him on pictures like that.

It is very easy to say a no comment about Suarez and what he did. He shouldn't comment on that at all.

If he must say that Suarez hurt the Liverpool brand then back it up with figures.

As long as he can't do that then don't talk about it.

I'm sure Virgin's brand is stained by Branson's antics.

            Please lighten up a little.

How the **** does getting a piggy back tarnish the image of a club? It was pre-season and showed that they have a human side

That's the problem. We need robots running our club who just obey.

Oh ffs Arn don't be ridiculous. As the MD, and previously the Commercial Director, there is nobody better in the world to comment on the impact all the Suarez nonsense has had on our "brand". There is no need for him to quote figures whatsoever (as if there would be some explicit and tangible figures to quote anyway), if he has had to deal with sponsors etc taking issue at some of what has gone on, not to mention dealing with serious criticism of the club from the media etc too then he is uniquely placed to make such a comment and only the most myopic and biased of people could possibly argue with his position to do so imo.

His antics have quite clearly had negative connotations for the LFC brand both on the commercial side of things as well as that of brand strength/confidence and as such there is a more than justified reason for him to speak out about this. It's the job of senior personnel in companies to protect their brand especially something like LFC which has a global presence.

Ayre was fully justified and right to speak out about this and in fact having someone in his position either unable or unwilling to do so would be more of an issue IMO

Cannot wait to watch him play again today. He'll score.

I wonder if Rodgers will give Sturridge a rest and play Luis as the main man?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I fancy Suarez to get a couple as well, could be a good time to rest Sturridge although we do need a win, maybe start him for 60 or so.

I don't think he will. We've got 6 days off after this game before a home tie against Crystal Palace. It'd be ample opportunity to get Sturridge and Gerrard up to scratch before Hodgson ruins it all during the internationals.
