Suarez was the best player in the PL last year by miles. He's even better this season. Van Persie and Bale are good players, but Suarez is a genius. He makes good players seem ordinary. He is a controversial figure and he has done one or two daft things, but he's still the best player in the league and there's nobody even close to him.

And the best thing is other team's fans/managers still don't agree (or we'd have seen massive bids last summer). Suits us fine, sir.One tit for another.

On the basis he continues his current performances and attitude to the end of the season the kloob will have to offer him a new contract with a very signifcant uplift in his salary.
Rooney reportedly earns £250k a week. Ronaldo makes £280k a week AFTER TAX! I hear Suarez is on £125k per week now - who knows what Real will offer him.
I think we would need to double his money to have any chance of retaining the player. We'd need two top, top, players to replace him anyway.
Thats an extra £6.5 million a year - on a financial basis he clearly worth it if he can get us, and keep us, in the Champions League. Even more so when the new tv deal kicks in.
