we cannot build the team around suarez because hes just too inconsistent. you cannot predict his next move because he plays off the cuff. a player like that who doesnt produce enough and keeps giving the ball back to the opposition has to be kept out of the way on the left of the 4231 where coincidentally he played really well for ajax.
we need better players in the key positions. alternatively, if psg offer 40m I would snap their hand off.Originally posted by el matador View Posthe takes the wrong option 9 times out of 10.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI agree. Suarez is a fantastic footballer and very entertaining, but if we're going to make progress we need players who can create and get goals. We don't need players with dazzling skills, we need intelligent footballers who can play the right ball and shoot with consistent accuracy. It would be nice to have the luxury of both types of players for different situations, but like you said if we were offered a substantial amount for Suarez we would be foolish to turn it down.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostWhat's your point? Someone who cannot change their opinion breeds reptiles of the mind or something like that! Suarez doesn't create enough or score enough goals.Originally posted by el matador View Postthe one thing that seperates good players from great ones is decision making. young players are learning the game so it takes a while before they fine tune theirs. but suarez is 24 so we cant excuse his crap decision making down to inexperience.
I just think he consistently makes really poor decisions and it would take a very astute manager to turn this around. in the 18 months hes been here his decision making has gotten worse rather than better. Was looking for something unrelated, but couldn't resist quoting what else I found.Originally posted by el matador View Postsuarez would need 150 chances to score 20 league goals a season.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Where's the smirk smiley when you need it?
Anyway I'm pleased there are more cringeworthy posts then mine being highlighted above!
Back on point. It's interesting that our first choice 3 attackers have so rarely played together. I'd love to see Coutinho at the tip of a midfield diamond with Suarez and Sturridge up top, but I'm not sure how well the rest of the team would be suited to playing that shape...Like blood on iron

He was the most obviously world class new signing I've seen at Anfield. Sure his numbers weren't great initially but talent-wise it was staring us in the face and there were pretty clear mitigating circumstances in terms of his minor failings at the time. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

His wastefulness was not costing us games when you consider the other players we could have played instead were clearly inferior to him. He was an asset to the first team, his wastefulness was just a frustrating thing stopping him from being world class.Last edited by Red_Polo; 30-11-13, 04:24 PM.Like blood on iron

It was the effort involved that got me, setting the trap and waiting for him to bite.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostWhere's the smirk smiley when you need it?

I was bored and it was unfortunate you were on the pages I was looking at.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostWhy do that? At the time Suarez wasn't a prolific goalscorer. He has become an unbelievable player, but at first he was very hit and miss.
Anyway, you still maintain you were right, so what difference does it make?If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
