Aye. If Bale can fetch £80m, Suarez has to be worth £100m+.

A serious amount of the Bale value is in marketing. Suarez is much less of an asset in those regards. Barcelona and Bayern are highly unlikely to buy a player with that reputation, we wouldn't sell to City, United, Chelsea or Arsenal. Which means a market of one club - Real Madrid. Given that they have Bale and Ronaldo they would probably only be willing to pay a footballing value. I struggle to see how on that basis any player is worth these huge values.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAye. i was thinking about this the other nightOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostAye I think we should just enjoy him. If he stays, amazing, if he goes - to which he would be entitled - we get about £80m and we'll be ****ing loaded. £22.7m - what a bargain.
i'd be quite happy if we qualify this year for champions league - and he's happy to stay and continue giving his all for the remainder of what, his 3 years that are left
we get the best out of him, and then he go on a free
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think Suarez is now so good, approaching Messi/Ronaldo level, that his marketability is now assured. Also I think Barca and Bayern would love to have him.Originally posted by dww View PostA serious amount of the Bale value is in marketing. Suarez is much less of an asset in those regards. was about to to say the same. I'm sure their fans would sweep any of Suarez' previous under the carpet. He's just the best striker in the world now really. You'd have to be nuts to give it a miss.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI think Suarez is now so good, approaching Messi/Ronaldo level, that his marketability is now assured. Also, although he's done a few things in the past, he's not a day to day cunt like, let's say, Ibrahimovich.

If he continues this form we should consider doubling his contract - he puts in three times the effort as any other players so we'd still be good.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI think Suarez is now so good, approaching Messi/Ronaldo level, that his marketability is now assured. Regardless of this, it still puts us in a very strong position. Bale has set the benchmark and as a club we are well within our rights to ask for at least equal. Equally, Suarez will know he’s better than Bale you would hope will understand the clubs stance and maybe even for his own ego will hope for a record breaking fee.Originally posted by dww View PostA serious amount of the Bale value is in marketing. Out of curiousity, what would you suggest his ‘football’ value is Dave when you take into consideration the recent fees of Cavani, Falcao, Hulk or even Zlatan?
I wonder how his record compares to the likes of Messi and Ronaldo for open play goals.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostViktor Fagerström @ViktorFagerLFC
