We give our press grief, and rightly so often, but fair play he's turned his behavior round and they've given him a break and started recognising his positives.

Sure that makes life a lot easier.

Iraq's most famous double used to be Saddam Hussein's decoy. But now a dead ringer for Liverpool's talismanic striker is having to cope with fame.

The Iraqi fan has been interviewed by local TV news and explained his predicament after visiting Anfield recently where he met, amongst others, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

He told Al Arabiya: "When I was in the streets of the UK everyone - even kids - said this is Suarez' - the whole street - and I always say I'm not Suarez. People there are crazy and I have to keep saying I'm not Suarez please don't touch me. I've met a few players but I'm sorry not to have met Suarez himself."

He added: "I like the classy Liverpool fans who have been supporting their team since the 80's when they were winning everything until now."

Liverpool's Luis Suarez Fears Injury Could End World Cup Dream
Suarez believes he has made "two mistakes" in his career.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez believes moving on from the "only two mistakes" he has made in his career has been the foundation for his spectacular form this season.

The Uruguay international has been irresistible in front of goal this campaign, scoring 23 goals in just 21 Premier League games to spearhead Liverpool's top four ambition and perhaps even a challenge for the Premier League title.

It marks a remarkable turnaround for the 26-year-old whose chequered history in both the Premier League and Holland's Eredivise before tarnished his reputation as one of the best forward's in world football.

Suarez describes the moment where he bit an opponent while playing for Ajax in 2010 and an identical incident involving Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic last season as the two "only mistakes" he has made in his career and believes the fallout from both episodes was the catalyst behind his new-found maturity.

"Let me tell you, I've made only two mistakes in my career. My first was when I was playing for Ajax and I bit an opponent. My second was when I bit (Branislav) Ivanovic," Suarez told Sport 890 AM.

"Those two were my only two mistakes as a footballer.

"I said I'm sorry and that was all, end of story. I've nothing else to regret. All the other things were like a movie that people in England believed in."

However, Suarez maintains the incident where he was charged for racist abuse aimed at Manchester United's Patrice Evra in early 2013 was unjust.

"The case with (Patrice) Evra was all false. I was accused without proof. But that's in the past. I was sad at that moment, but I'm happy today.

"I have grown up. I have thought more about things before doing them.

"Now people in England can't talk about me because I'm not doing anything wrong. They have to talk about me only as a footballer."

Suarez's Uruguay enter next summer's World Cup boasting one of the most fearsome attacks in the competition with the Liverpool man and Paris Saint Germain's Edinson Cavani set to lead the line in Brazil.

The Liverpool striker's spectacular form this season has many tipping him as a candidate for the tournament's Golden Boot award, but having seen both Edinson Cavani and Theo Walcott's World Cup hopes potentially ended by knee ligament damage, Suarez admits he is worried he may see his tournament ended by injury during the final four months of the Premier League.

"The truth is that I am scared of what happened to Falcao and Walcott," Suarez added.

"But you live in the present and you always give your best for your club - you can't be thinking about that all the time.

"It is a unique opportunity and we all want to be there, but I prefer to focus my mind on the English league. The moment to think about the national team will arrive later."

I'm the only one so far to have voted for him as MOTM at Fulham but I thought he was wonderful. IMO he was almost entirely responsible for the change in dynamic in the 2nd half. He was unplayable, they were terrified of him and he changed the game. He is such a leader too, such a ****ing warrior. Getting in the CL and all the riches and advantages it brings is mega, but the best thing about it for us will be keeping hold of this ****ing genius.

Yep, baffled to see rubbish about him being tired or not that good, a 30min spell in the second half he was utterly ridiculous. The best player in the world.

What strikes me about Suarez is his hell-bent desire to win isn't all about himself; such is his tactical awareness and knowledge of what is going on around him, you will often see him take up space (like on the left flank yesterday) to free up the pitch for other players. Likewise, his ego isn't all about him winning the game but the team and he will often look for a better placed team mate over endless strikes at goal.

How often would you see Bale try and work the ball on his left foot just to launch one on goal? I can't remember the game, but Manchester United were in need of a goal and Janet Jazz Jazz Jam was shooting on sight. Lampard has done it, hell, Gerrard has done it. Suarez though, he has that overiding ability to find somebody else regardless of the pressure.

I don't think you can find another player that offers so much individually as well as offering so much to the team.

                      Spot on.

Little things like how he celebrates goals scored by others. Remember that cunt van Nistelrooy. After a two yard tap in or a meaningless penalty, he'd run off to the corner flag like Marco ****ing Tardelli, sink to his knees and celebrate like he'd just won the World Cup on his own.

Whenever any other United player scored, he'd just walk off, completely disinterested.

Suarez is the polar opposite. Goes mental whoever scores. And when he scores after a great assist, he's pointing to the man who set him up. I've never seen any player in my 30+ years of watching football who wants to win as much as he does. Not one.

btw - 'that' touch last night, was ****ing ridiculous - probably one of the greatest bits of skill ive ever seen anyone do during a game, ball fizzed at him, waist height, defender up his arse, back to goal, and he just kills it with a little flick and spins round the other way on to the ball

Very much like Roy Keane in his pomp, or even Diego Maradona in his heyday............as much as some may dislike Keane for example, it's a wonderful facet to have in a player.

Should keep quiet about the Evra thing though. Does no one any good raking over that again.
