Unbelievable that is the top football story on bbc sport today. What was probably some 12yr old in Uruguay tweeting to Dummett that he should die, probably badly google translated, while both tasteless and moronic is neither really going to be a credible death threat, nor headline news in a sane world. How... tabloid
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
    Mine angry and defrauded young?

worried, because well he's a star for us and i get worried about any of our players getting injuries.

And selfish point of view, i hope he now misses the world cup so he can rest and recover fully and come back to us as good as new

i am concerned that he might be rushed back and it will do more harm than good
Best case sceario is, that he misses most of the WC but Uruguay progress enough for him to be involved in a couple of important games.

Also, any club that was maybe thinking of of offering big money to buy him would now wait and see how he comes back next season, and by the time he proves his fitness again, we will be well in the lead at the top of the league at the same time as tearing up europe! and he'll be going nowhere! except to the final with LFC!

I did say best case sceario.

Bit odd for BBC alright. Must be the slowest football news day of the year.

Pathetic. The BBC, in trying to keep up with the modern world, has gone right down the ****ter. Online at least.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                              Stolen from rawk

Ahh a meniscal injury. I actually did my doctoral thesis on meniscus tissue engineering and am pretty up to speed on the biomechanical effects of damage to this tissue. The meniscus provides three main functions 1. shock absorption, 2. load distribution and 3. joint stabilization. When losing any portion of the meniscus, regardless of how small, the ability of the meniscus to provide these functions is severely decreased. The decrease in the first two functions will definitely increase his chances of osteoarthritis in the long term (10+ years). The most concerning is the short term idecreased joint stability. This will predispose him to more knee injuries (ligament tears, increased meniscal tearing, cartilage damage) because other tissues will be under higher biomechanical loads . Rigorous PT and rehab will help mitigate these risk. I really think the World Cup is to early for him because he'll likely still have instability due to the trauma of surgery. Luis' desire to play in it could really hurt himself and Liverpool

If he's already had the same surgery 8 years ago I'd say he's painting a worst case scenario and it's not necessarily always the case.
