Sergio Ramos has been sent off 17 times in his career. Had he been sent off in this world cup do you think FIFA would have banned him from 3 Spanish League matches?Originally posted by cream View PostThe player has been punished for biting for the third time, he's our player so unfortunately we're going to have to suffer as well.Football without Origi is nothing

I very much doubt that.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostSo to summarise:
- Can't play him for four months.
- His sell on value has dropped dramatically.
- Won't be match fit until the end of November as he can't train.
- Have to pay him while he's banned.
- Forced to keep him knowing he's one more major transgression away from a likely long term/lifetime ban.
Yay!

the issue for fifa now is they just drive a bigger wedge in the club vs country debate.
for example...lets say we decide to sell Suarez.....only Barca interested....they could say, if you want to sign for us....you have to retire from international football, because we don't want you to get sent off for uruguay and us to be punished"
it could happen - teams could refuse to release players for international duty for fear of losing them should they do something playing for their countries = precedence has been seti own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

If Suarez had been red carded for a bad tackle then no he wouldn't have been banned for 3 PL matches either.Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostSergio Ramos has been sent off 17 times in his career. It absolutely should happen if you have any players like Suarez.Originally posted by PTP View Postit could happen - teams could refuse to release players for international duty for fear of losing them should they do something playing for their countries = precedence has been set
You take a risk with them anyways, but build a team of support staff to minimise that risk.
This means you can't let them play away from that support group. You'd be silly to.

Agree with the sentiment but we will have no chance of signing top tier players if this becomes policy.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostBan all our players from international duty. If we're going to be punished for what they do outside of our control then we don't let 'em out of our control. Simples.
**** FIFA, **** Suarez.
