Of course. Because the world is black and white. You're either always right or always wrong. Without exception.
    Oh I don't know.

You only have to see the reaction back in Uruguay to see why he doesn't appear sincere when he eventually apologises, they all indulge him and almost encourage the feeling that he has been picked on for no reason.

Personally I think he should be sold, the clubs good name means something to me, but I don't see any problem in fans wanting him to stay, he's great, he really is, but come on, he has let himself and us down again. It's not good enough. His actions have probably destroyed any chance of fighting for the title next season, that's desperately sad.

It is what it is, no amount of moaning about FIFA changes the fact that Luis brought this on himself.
I don't think you can really blame people for their natural , lfc-focused perspective on this, but again, the person he bit who has no LFC nor any other bias also believes it too harsh. As for letting it go, it only happened the other day like, give us a chance!

If I commit a crime and receive a harsh sentence for it that may well be my fault for doing it in the first place, however I still have a right to expect fair and proportionate treatment from the justice system, and to complain if I don't. The two concepts are not mutually exclusive imo.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
          Mine angry and defrauded young?

This tiny corner of the Internet is practically the only place outside of Uruguay where people are upset at the ruling. Every neutral I've spoken to thinks he got off lightly, so I guess it must be everyone else who is wrong?

Anyway, I'm done on this subject... I'm completely sick of it to be honest. I suggest you voice some of this to reasonable folks outside this forum and see what sort of a response you all get.
I think there's no real right or wrong here, just a matter of perspective of differing fans. If the shoe were on the other foot, and Rooney did this ****e, I'd have said the same thing he got off too lightly, the granny-shagger, and later make memes about his incident and generally laugh at his and Man U's direction every chance I get.

We have every right to feel aggrieved about the ruling because it unfairly impacts the club. If Man U did the same thing, I wouldn't hold it against them as well -- doesn't stop me from laughing at them though.

It's the moral outrage, especially in the English press, that's truly senseless, making this about right or wrong when it's really about a bloke, who admittedly needs more help and coping mechanisms, doing a very, very stupid thing on a football pitch.

                Nothing more or less.

Nice to be the forum whipping boy again though for not towing the party line. ;-)

I agree, I feel aggrieved at the ruling because it affects us... But I understand that FIFA were always going to make an example of him and don't have any complaints. It could of been worse given the sort of ban many in the press were calling for.

                      You're hardly a whipping boy.

You've disagreed with my stance to which I've responded. It's a debate. Pile in, have fun, disagree. Whatever. No need to be sensitive about it. Nobody is insulting anybody.
                      Oh I don't know.

I'm not, which is why I went back and tried to add the smilie.

I have broad shoulders, I can deal with the fact that you lot are incapable of taking off the blinkers.

Right, Im gonna have a stab at this and see if I can make sense of it all.

First off, what Luis did was ****ing idiotic, totally unwelcome in any walk of life. Let alone football.

He should be punished, certainly an international ban and some sort of behaviour order. No idea what's on offer. But rehabilitation in these sorts of cases is better than creating stress and resentment on the player.

4 Months is excessive, but that's not the worse part. Its that he isn't allowed to train or be part of anything to do with football. FIFA claim its the player who is punished, but ban Messi and Barca suffer, ban Ronaldo and Madrid suffer. So obviously we will be punished.

It stops us potentially maximising any sale of the player (If he was to be sold) and due to him not training you would have to assume it will take him a good few weeks to get back to speed. He will have played 2 games in 5 months. Hardly ideal.

Ultimately all I care about is Liverpool, and in this case we suffer. That sucks, but the blame is with one person. He needs help to curve these explosive tendencies, which I think were under control at Liverpool.

We need to build a team with the idea that Suarez isn't going to be around and then if he is we can have him as a nice bonus. He just isn't reliable enough to have as a lynch-pin.

Going forward I dont think I want the club to sell him, hes a magician on the ball and with his help we finished in a strong second place. We are better with him.

That was all a bit of a stream of consciousness, but its such a mad situation with a draconian punishment. That I dont know how to write it all down.

Perkins is right though. Diego Maradona is a bit of a moron. He opens his mouth at any opportunity and the guy is a walking sound-bite machine. Hes basically a more famous Harry Redknapp.
