Copa America is being played this summer. The final is at the end of July. This will of course affect players like Lucas and Suarez maybe even Maxi.

They will need a rest after the CA and start pre-season training later than the rest of the team.

They could miss a month or so at the start of the season because of it. Say two three weeks rest after the CA and then pre-season training after that.

That means that is a must to get in another quality striker and another defensive midfielder.
