Yes, only for 2 reasons - 1.) Extra revenue & 2.) Some game time for some of the reserves/youngsters...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Extra revenue how ? They dont earn much is 25000 fans turn up paying a score.
Rangers earned less than a million the year they made the final.
And the compo to manc land covered that and more.

Look, I am watching football on Thursday anyway, so I'd rather it be us than Spurs and Fulham. I'd love to watch us in the Champions League but that isn't going to happen next year, so I'd love to see us, get the young players some more experience, play to win the silverware, get into the Super Cup, etc. It sucks to have the team traveling to backwaters all season, but Liverpool should be in Europe. It is who we are.

thursday - sunday games im opposed too and not just because it interferes with my own footballing schedule, but becasue we will alays be playing catchup on those who play saturdays (9 times out of 10 our main rivals)

plus, carra - stevie - agger - pepe to name a few would benefit greatly from a midweek rest between games rather than have to travel X amount of miles to hungary, azerbajian, greece etc.... for europa league games. In CL games its spain, france, italy, germany so its not as bad to travel.

we do belong in european football but IMO it would benfit us much much more to concentrate on domestic cups and the league next year.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Fulham got about £10m from their Europa League run.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

In a crazy sort of way, that's a good reson for me to ignore the europa, and make damn sure we get back in that top 4, because if being out of the europa effects us going forward under the new rules, then being out of Champs league must really hurt the figures.

deluded fan that i am, after thinking long and hard I have decided no.

I honestly believe that 4/5 good signings this summer and without the distraction of the euro disney cup we can genuinely challenge for the title.

I think it would be better for the development of young players to still be involved in it. But make no mistake it does effect your league games when you have to play thursday/sunday and are travelling to azabawherethe****istan.

Top players would need to be involved in some capacity for sure and more as the season goes on. Stevie, Jamie, Agger and Aurelio would all benefit from not playing in it either.

We have proved over the course of the last 5 months we are more than capable of beating the big teams, Kenny knows it and so do the other teams. travelling all over europe midweek must surely have a destabilising effect on the team. Lets give Clarke/Dalglish as long as we can with the team before each match and lets watch the magic unfold.

Lets concentrate on knocking those Cunts off OUR Perch next season.

Considering the effort we put in this season... no!

The Uefa Cup games were some of the worst I have ever seen. I even missed one away game on the telly on purpose so I could play Thomas the Tank Engine with my little boy. I dont think I have ever missed a live game on purpose before.

                            It's European football. It's a trophy. I wanted in.

Pissed off we have missed out to be honest.

I seem to remember we earnt a similar amount in 2001. Caertainly the money makes it worthwhile, if you are in it to win it, as well as the prestige, for both the trophy and the club.

When we won in it 2001 it was a stepping stone. We had been in the wilderness and we beat Barca and Roma en route. Not little diddy teams.
But now we have tasted CL success fairly recently so the EL is a diddy cup again imo.

Its probably akin to going back to an old girlfriend after banging a stunner.
