im just hoping to see a team that will look to finish on a high with a morale boosting thumping of villa. total football - all out attack with the youngsters given a chance / time off the bench instaed of the players IMO will not be here next year (ngog, cole, kyrgiakos, poulsen, jova etc...)

would be good to see carroll and suarez play together again and the likes of wilson, robinson, the young winger whose names has totally escaped me right now (the onw who scored 5 goals and would have been our youngest player in europa league had he played) coming off the bench.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

With Raul not being available that is very likely.

        Raul set for Villa return

Kenny Dalglish has confirmed Raul Meireles is in contention to face Aston Villa on Sunday after returning to training - but insists no risks will be taken with his fitness.

The Portugal midfielder missed Liverpool's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend after sustaining a knock against Fulham but could return for the Europa League decider at Villa Park.

Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv: "He is training, so I think we should have him in and around the game for Sunday.

"We won't take any chances, but we expect him to be fit."

Meanwhile, the boss reported no other fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash with Villa, though he will further assess the condition of his squad following the reserves' Senior Cup clash with Everton at the Academy on Friday afternoon.

Dalglish added: "There are one or two other knocks, but mostly it was down to their egos being banged by losing to Tottenham, which isn't a bad thing.

"There's not too many that should be missing from the squad on Sunday.

"There's a reserve game today against Everton, which some of the young lads are playing in, so we hope they don't pick any knocks either."

Dont recall that against Man City or Sunderland but you continue your tedious little agenda if it makes you feel better.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has paid tribute to unheralded defender Martin Skrtel as the centre-back closes in on a personal milestone.

The Slovakia international has played every minute of the Reds' 37 Premier League matches this season, a feat matched only by Everton's Leighton Baines among outfield players.

He will complete a blemish-free 100% record if he stays on the pitch for the full 90 minutes at Aston Villa on Sunday.

Skrtel's presence at the back has been the one constant as injuries to the defence have caused some disruption this season.

Daniel Agger was in and out of the side with niggling problems before a knee injury prematurely ended his campaign, Martin Kelly has not featured since the end of February because of a hamstring injury while fellow full-back Glen Johnson missed most of April with a similar complaint.

Even stalwart Jamie Carragher was not immune, sidelined for two months after dislocating his shoulder.

But Skrtel has remained present throughout, even overcoming a mid-season dip in form around the turn of the year which would probably have cost him his place had the injury situation not been so bad.

"It's a fantastic achievement but we have to wait and see if he's playing on Sunday or not," joked Dalglish, before adding: "No, I wouldn't like to spoil that perfect record.

"He's been fantastic this year and really grown in stature. He's been a real asset for us.

"He gets credit from the people who really matter - the people here. He wouldn't have played every game if he didn't."

While Skrtel's form has picked up since Dalglish's arrival in January, the manager admits the rest of the squad have done plenty to convince him there is not a pressing need for major changes in the summer.

A team which was so underwhelming under Roy Hodgson, prompting claims there would have to be massive investment in playing staff, has been exactly the opposite in Dalglish's five months in charge.

And the Scot said it would have been wrong for him to judge the players on what he had seen before he took over.

"I had no pre-conceived ideas. You have an opinion but it's not definitive," added the 60-year-old.

"When you're on the outside you don't always see the effort and commitment they have - I've noticed that since I've come in.

"A lot of the performances have exceeded what I thought we were capable of.

"That's a great compliment to them, or maybe I'm just thick and didn't appreciate what we had here!"

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Would like to finish the season in style with a win. Birmingham will need to give it everything they have got. Do Spurs have the same desire, I'm not sure. Their recent form, barring last week has been poor.

Really want to finish in fifth, the weeks with European football next season without us playing will seem very long.

This regardless of what Spurs do.
