Best night off my life (although it didn't seem like I would ever smile again at half time)

I remember Dudeks double save from Shevchenko like it was yesterday, Shevchenko was the best striker in the world at that moment and I just sat there in stunned silence. I couldn't even celebrate the miss because I was in disbelief...just amazing.

I was in town that night, had a cracking spot in the Lloyds Bar in Concert Square. Clear view of the TV, easy route to the lav and as easy as it was going to be route to the bar.

Was utterly gutted at half time and buggered off to find a pub with no tv to drown the sorrows. 20 odd minutes later I was dancing in the middle of Lime Street and running back to Concert Square.

Place went mental after Dudek made the final save. Was just jumping up and down hugging whoever was near me .

Also got my ugly mug on TV during the day when Granada were doing a bit of vox popping. Rang home to get someone to record it and nobody was in till after it the news had finished :|

Incredible night for me and my wife.
The 25th is our annniversary of when we started 'dating' in 2003 and that night we did a cold meal at home which was prawns and salad etc. Prob was we only ate at midnight due to obvious reasons.
Last night we did a prawn weber again and ate after 11pm only - how things don't change.
Six years ago and it still feels like last night at times!
